Doydie, good to see you. What is Silver Splash?

I swam a mile in the rain today. Its going down into the thirties tonight, so i worry It will be too cold to swim in the morning.
I'm not really sure what Silver splash is! silver sneakers I believe is a national excercise program for seniors. It is offered free with I would assume most or all Medicare advantage programs. So why not take advantage of it! The Y has Silver splash which incorparates aerobocs and fitness in the water. They also have aqua joints which does most of the same things as silver splash but you keep your feet on the floor of the pool all the time. No bouncing, hopping, marching, etc.

Did 24 min. on the elliptical...I got a bit overheated and started to break out in hives again, so I stopped.
Then did 24 min. on weight machines...felt so excellent afterwards!!

My neuro told me on Tuesday to get in the pool (not to get into it on Tuesday, but he told me on Tuesday)...anyway, I told him I get a fibro attack when I swim at the health club because they keep the water at around 72 degrees He couldn't believe they keep it that cold, but they post it on the wall. The therapy pool is 96-no thank you...I'll try it when I get back from Hawaii...I'll definitely swim there, though.

Debbie, 72??? Are they out of their fricking mind? I wear a wetsuit in the winter and will not get in the water below 77, with the wetsuit. I prefer 80 to 84. WHo do they get to get into such a freezing pool? They are nuts. Have fun in Hawaii.

Hi to Doydie: Thanks for the info.

I swam a mile today: 50 air temp, 81 pool temp.

Walked a mile today. Through the slush, ice, and snow. its only snowing lightly here right now, so I took advantage and got out in it. I also did my mile yesterday in the rain. I was soaked to the bone by the time I got home.

Dej,
That avatar photo is a CAT? I thought it was a chicken...
Good job of pushing yourself...but stay dry...you don't want to get the sniffles...

Yeah, 72. They have a group that swims daily that is competitive, and I think they like it cool in the water. I know one girl who wears a wet suit in that pool for the MS water class...she can't take the cold water, either.

Debbie, I am something of an expert on pools, and 72 is too cold for competitive swimming. The muscles work best when the pool is between 78 and 82. I think I'd ask more about that. I bet you can find a quote on the internet.

Dejibo: I agree, amazing job of pushing yourself.

I swam a mile today: Air temp 61, pool temp 80

BBS, I'll check it out...I know that if I get in that adult pool, I'm headed for a major fibro attack...I usually swim in the youth pool...it's a bit warmer and still the 25 yd length, just shallower, which is fine by me, since I'm afraid of water over my head

I cleaned the house with a lick and a promise, as Mom used to say...took about 1 1/2 hrs. I'm pooped...

Flew 20,000miles since I last spoke. Phew, wore me out.

Now I have two horses a day to ride
I'm a lucky young lady to have such wonderful animals who want to listen and do as I ask (in my dreams). They make me very happy.

Will be jumping in the pool in a bit. Outside temp 82, water temp 90

taking a loooong car ride today. Seeing family, friends, doing taxes, and shopping while I am close to a mall to get some done. That will be enough exercise for me.

plus I have been doing the happy dance that Puds friend is back! wheeee!
