Hi all,
Saw the neuro this afternoon. After discussing sxs returning after IVSM, and my balance getting even worse, we discussed what to do. He feels that the MS is "changing". Suggested a clinical trial, so I begin after the Copaxone is cleared from my body, around June. He loved my Hawaii tan, by the way...

It's with Ely Lilly...a subcutaneous injection. Yeah, let's hold hands and be lab rats together!! Or guinea pigs, as I like to think of myself!
Neuro's nurse told us that 6 out of 7 patients receive the med, as opposed to a placebo. And any time that my doc feels it's not helping, he'll yank me from the study.

Oh, yeah, Sal, my neuro is married to a Hawaiian native...that's why his opinion of my tan matter more than yours

Thanks, Lady. My neuro actually is in Northbrook...He feels that this study will work better than the ABCs for me, since it works on the B cells (I think that's what he said...can't trust the swiss cheese brain).
One advantage of going into this is that I will be very closely monitored...MRIs, blood work, etc. It will be a lot of time in the car...he's an hour away from me. But they compensate you, so that's cool!

I just checked the criteria. I don't think I would be eligible since I use a cane. You have to be able to walk 1/10th of a mile without stopping or using an assitive device. I could possibly do that in the morning on a good day. I have also had multiple allergic reactions to medications (CRAB's) and ty which also looks like it would disqualify you. Oh well
