Lightbulb Prednisone and side effects:

Here is an excellent article for those taking high dose prednisone for long periods of time:

http://www.gihealth.com/html/educati...rednisone.html

It covers all the bases and is excellent.

It would be a good idea to print it out and keep with you for future reference. It discusses dietary control for side effects, and things like elevated blood sugar, high blood pressure, and infections.

I copied this post over here to the MS forum from the MG forum. I know many of you take IVSM which isn't long term but some do take Prednisone tapers both short and long term. The link in the post has lots of good info in it.

Thanks mrsD, and kitty. It was an excellent article.

You can email it to yourself if you can't print it all. Very easy. Click on email, then when it comes up, put in your email addy, and hit send. Done!

Very good to have this information on hand, whether you use steroids now or may in the future, or have in the past.
