I think that the interim pay should come from unemployment Compensation until they approve Dissability.

Good luck, Debbie.

It ain't right.

I know a young man who was completely paralyzed in a car accident. His parents applied for him since he couldn't do it himself.

The SSA denied him. Their response said they found that he could have some sort of gainful employment. They stated that some of the jobs listed for his ability were available--carnival barker and radio announcer.

If it was my kid I would have been in jail right after receiving that letter. Unfortunately, the person who signed the letter would no longer have been with us.

They won on appeal. Even the ALJ who reviewed the case stated that the SSA shouldn't be surprised at what happens when they send out letters like that one.

I'm so sorry Deb.

When I read about people who's applications are denied but who deserve to be accepted, first I feel guilty because my own acceptance came so quickly, then I feel angry that some people I know sit back and "rip the system off".

It makes me so cross when people fabricate ailments and then get accepted when others are struggling with the real thing, and I have 2 relatives who fall into the former category!

I've never heard of anyone here in Australia having to hire a lawyer for this type of claim though. As far as I know we just have to write a letter explaining our case, but maybe things have changed. It's 3 years since I went on disability.

Please try again, and do what the others suggest. Keep records of absolutely everything.

Good luck Deb.
