Yesterday I mowed the lawn...don't know how long it took, only that I was drenched in sweat afterwards...I paid later with leg spasms...
Today I worked out on an elliptical for 23 minutes and weight machines for 25 minutes...back to the grind...

Debbie,

I'm impressed with your workout regimen. You're doing much better than me!

I worked out a lot all last week while on vacation in Montego Bay. I got to go out in the kayak twice as well and they had a nice gym at the resort. We did lots of swimming and paddling around the lazy river and we danced some too! We were party animals, lol. :D

I joined a gym down the street from work and I'm going there for the first time today. I signed up for a year so I better get cracking, lol.

Yesterday I pulled weeds and puttered in the garden for about an hour. :)

Moving my, now, overweight, little body, in the weather is difficult....even in A/C..

I hate MS and I hate Summer.. ;)

Ok, I did a half hour at the club today. They didn't like it that I signed up at work because they said they only end up getting about $2 per week from that.

I told them I'd make sure to give them a lot of publicity since I talk to about a hundred people a day, lol.

Tell them to give you a better deal and release you from the old contract and you will sign up through them instead.

I did a spin class last night...the instructor tried to mimic stage 16 of the Tour de France, so we did a 7 minute climbing section, an 8 minute climbing section, an 11 minute climbing section, and a 12 minute climbing section, each with 2 minutes rest in between. It was brutally tough. I forget what all the numbers were, but I know that the ride total was about 1 hour and 10 minutes, I hit a max of 93% of my max HR, and burned just under 900 calories.

Worked out on the elliptical again today, this time for 32 minutes...Wiz, you're working, which is much more active than my little ole workout!

Another spin class last night. It was everything I remembered I hated about this instructor. Within 10 minutes of getting into the class, she had done most of the things that made me stop going to her classes.

Things like telling us we were doing a 4 minute intense interval and encouraging us to go all out, then at the end, telling us to turn up the resistance and starting another interval without giving any rest period or warning that it was coming. Or telling us we were doing 3 minutes of high cadence work; then after one minute, telling us we have 2 minutes left...then after another minute telling us we have 2 minutes left...

We call her the "queen of the 90 second minute". Her 10 second countdowns take 30 seconds...her one minute countdowns take 90 seconds, etc. If I felt she were doing it to challenge us, and she only did it occasionally, I wouldn't mind...but she does it all class long and there is no rhyme or reason to why or how she does it. It is like she is just absent-minded and doesn't know she is doing it.

Oh well...Once this "15 classes in a month" "Tour de MAC" contest is over, I can go back to skipping her classes. I have 12 classes so far, and will be out of town all weekend and all next week...so I am doing another class tonight (my third night in a row) and I am going to do two classes tomorrow to get my 15th class before I go out of town. My legs are going to feel like spaghetti tomorrow night...but it will feel good to have accomplished it.

LOL, it sounds like my manager. We can always sell a little bit more. :D

I made it to the gym for a quick 15 minute workout today, 10 minutes on the elliptical and 5 on the rowing machine then headed back to work. It kept me going at a good pace for my two hours of overtime tonight, lol.

Tomorrow will be a challenge though, a 15 hour day!

How do you guys do it? I know, you're young.
Wait, just wait..:D

TXBatman 07-23-2010 11:14 AM

It is funny...most days I do feel young...or at least younger than I am...but when I have been killing myself all week like this week, I definately don't feel young at all.

Did my spin class last night...and as usual, it was very tough. The thursday night instructor is very good, but won't let you ease up much at all. In a 45 minute spin, we only had two breaks for 60-90 seconds each where he let us ease up a bit...the rest of the time we were going hard the whole way.

As I told one of the other folks in the class who hadn't been to many of his classes, after my first class with Chris, I thought he was trying to kill me...but it took me until about the 3rd one to figure out that I was right. He plays alot of christian rock and inspiration songs while we ride, and I told the guy he did it so we knew where we would be going when we died on the bike.

Made it in again at 9:15 this morning for another class with only 14 hours rest after last night's class. It was fun, but it was a 1 hour class and since I was near the front (under the ceiling fan), I couldn't slack off at all and had to go hard again. I got a protein smoothie after my shower and headed into the office. I feel ok, but I am going to be a hurting puppy by the time I finish the class this afternoon at 4:15.
