Hello All,

I know some of you have known me for over seven years now and have followed my trials and tribulations in first being diagnosed with RRMS then SPMS and lasting five and a half years. Then on Super Bowl Sunday of 2006 while in the hospital with bilateral leg paralysis, I was told by my neuro that they no longer think I have or had MS. Although it was a good call in the beginning.

After a full year of testing and research by my neuro and the practice NP a diagnosis has been determined and confirmed as of Feb. 7th of this year. Almost a year to the day I found out that I indeed did NOT have MS. The formal diagnosis is for a rare form of deteriorating motor neuron disease called, HSP, Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia, for which there are only 20,000 know cases in the US. The neuro community feels this is a very under diagnosed disease and can be mistaken for many other diseases. For those of you who would like to see more information on this disease go to: www.sp-foundation.org/chart.htm and you will also see that Primary Lateral Sclerosis can go hand in hand with this disease. Both of these diseases have NO cure, NO treatment, other than symptoms, and will continually get worse over time.

Since I no longer have or even had MS to begin with, I feel this is the time to say farewell to all of my MS Board friends. I have gone off in a new direction for my own personal growth and satisfaction in that I'm taking an indepth Home Based Business training course and will eventually have my own fully functional web store on the Internet. My goal is to do well enough with it that I can not even worry about SSDI and my wife would be able to retire from her position early so we can enjoy our time left together and not worry about work.

So, this is my final message on this board and I wish all the best attitude toward your personal challenges who have MS and pray for a diagnosis for those who are in Limboland. I've enjoyed my time here and will miss all of you.

I first came across you on another site. Your insights into dealing with any of these distressful symptoms, no matter what has caused them has been fantastic along with your support to everyone. I wish you lots of luck with your business and I am glad you have a dx again and can move on in the direction that that dx takes you. We will miss you here and we all thank you.
