This research is done on those with the disease MS in Australia. I think if they can find this information and it enables them to ensure that they can stave off and prevent the disease in others, preventing them the pain and destruction of the disease, it is a wonderful thing.

This would seem to indicate a genetic cause? A particular substance missing or present?

Dr. Swank was looking for "something missing" in his research. He thought
giving transfusions from healthy relatives and friends was a help--would sometimes put a person in remission for up to five months.

Something missing is the cause of one of my other diseases, Porphyria. In Porphyria, one or more of the enzymes in the heme synthesis pathway is
running low, typically at 50%. This starts a chemical cascade if a trigger occurs, like some toxins.

Missing, present when it should not be--these things are part of our metabolic puzzle.

I would not be surprised if at least one form of MS is caused by this.

Thanks Kitty. I'll go back and repair the broken link in the first post.

Yeah! Another approach, the more the better. This is interesting especially that we have numerous family members with MS. I look for wars to reading the article.
Thank you for posting it.
