Default Lap 500 Completed!

This might be a Stumble Inn topic but have to say it here - Today 10/11/10 I completed lap 500 in my 14x28 pool! Ampyra? Testosterone? All the reps I've done this year? Who knows cause the MS is still progressing & I might be dead in a year but LAP 500 woohoo!

Thumbs up

Good for you Eddie. You live in a warm climate and have a huge pool, lucky you. I'm glad you have more energy and stamina. Did you have this energy before taking Ampyra?

Maybe you can pinpoint when you felt this new burst of energy. Any realistic dates, times, medications that you started, written in your journal of help? I hope you keep a journal with all the new stuff you have started taking, besides the Ty infusion.
Keep it up.

I took a little extra testosterone since year started, keeping my level above 1000. I started spring by pushing wheelchair more and more to where after a few weeks I was no longer tired when I got home. In the begining, when I got home id be dead tired. After 1 month I got use to it and was able to do curls ect. after pushing chair. I did 24 miles total May thru June. That was great headstart for endurance. Pool started June 2nd. 5 laps in pool at first had me dead tired and slept like a baby. Monday i did 20 laps and I wasnt even tired. Ampyra started mid pool season I believe (its in my amyra thread) and took it 2x/day but cut it to 1x/day after a week cause I couldnt sleep. I take it once every morning since.

My MS is still progressing rapidly (feeling is going away in what I have left) but the strength is there go figure. I cut back on the testosterone because ive been having sweat issues if i dont get out of my wheelchair by 4-6pm. Stopped prozac to see if that was doing it. No idea. Getting testosterone & Vit D checked today. I also took a few months back 2000iu x4/day of Vit D which had my level at 110. B12 500mcg Ive been taking for 2-3 yrs which also speeds you up in the morning (trust me and get it). I don't drink coffee (too lazy lol) and also take a B100.

Attitude plays a major role. Either sit around and say woe is me, or get off your *** and start pushing those muscles. You'll build tolerance. I drink 1 boost high protein (15g) and take protein powder. I also take Lysine 3000mg, fish oil 3000mg with the boost. Lysine's 1 of the 4 ingredients in copaxone. Like nike - just do it!

btw - womans testosterone level is about 1/10 - 1/8 of a mans. 70 is upper range for women I believe.

Default Lap 540 Complete

If we get 1 more week of warm weather i'll go for 600. 20 laps today AFTER pushing 1.2 miles in chair! I have to say attitude or head strong is playing a major role. My recent burst of energy is coming from the beautiful weekend I had with a friend that stayed the weekend - just as a great friend. No hanky panky (because I resepct her), just a fun filled great time. I suggest all of you find something that makes you happy again and start walking, crawling, whatever you're able. You can only get stronger from exercise not weaker. Back pain has been reduced since spring, endurance, mind speed, everything.

My testosterone level checked yesterday was only 147 yikes. I'm still having the sweat from sitting still issues so I shot myself with 100mg right after I got results today. No wonder I wasn't putting muscle on with all the work i've been doing the last 2 weeks. I sweat at 1000, I sweat at 147 so 1000 here I come. Only benefit of keeping testosterone low is slightly better sleep, and putting condom catheter on is much easier since errection isn't 0-60 in seconds flat. I'm single, paralyzed from chest down so business down there doesn't need to respond like a Porsche or rudder.

If you have a pool GET A SOLAR COVER! Amazing how warm my pool is. 85. Nice pool jmiller.
