If I lived next to you, I'd lasso that little critter and get him his drops in no time. I bet you could get a neighborhood kid to help out? Most kids are short on cash these days and would probably give the eye meds for $10 a week? I know my kids would jump at the chance for small jobs like that.

Is this a maintenance med or just until the eyes are better?

How did you make out Sal? Any luck on getting help?

SallyC 10-20-2010 10:49 AM

I haven't tried to get help. Pal and I are doing it on our own. It's like the blind leading the blind. It ain't easy...EEEK, but I'm doing it.:p

I actually got him to open his mouth for his pills today, by tickling him under his chin..LOL:D He holds pretty still now for his eye drops. (I think it must feel good)

Thanks for all your helpful hints and your wonderful moral support. I know I couldn't do it without you.:grouphug:

Edit... oh and BTW, the suggestion of putting the pills in a yummy treat is great for most dogs, but Pal's persnickity...the little sh**.

Sounds like things are going better for you two:D Good to hear. Take care:hug:

AHA!! I was eating a little push up ice cream thingy and Pal was begging......Sooo, i gave him his meds early (he wasn't due til 10pm)....stuck 'em in the middle of a blob of icecream on my finger and he lapped it up.:trampoline:

Sally, I tried to reply last night but it wouldn't go through.

I saved what I wrote but I guess you don't need to hear it now but wanted you to know I tried to post. I'm glad you worked it out okay!

Sally, I think the neighborhood's sweetest kid would be the answer. Someone gentle and kind that loves pets. Just like you do Sally girl.

I had so many animals I lost count. (sigh)

I know I can't care for one. It is sad, but sometimes they are more work than kids. Lol Even though I miss their company so much, and their everlasting love, I can't get another dog or cat.:(

SallyC 10-20-2010 10:07 PM

I realise that now too, Lady and it makes me very sad indeed. I'll have to get a roommate..LOL

Sorry I didn't read this until now, Sal ... been out of state and away from a computer for about 1.5 weeks.

So sorry for you and your little doggie. I'm glad to know he's getting a little easier to treat. After reading this thread you should have a bag of tricks up your sleeve! :):hug::hug:
