I’ve had MS for most of my life, and I never had any paralysis as a symptom. I do have numbness, but it isn’t wide spread. The other day I had a half an hour or so where things on my right side weren’t quite right. My whole right arm had reduced feeling. It sort of felt like it was asleep, and my fingers had no fine motor skills. The right side of my face had reduced feeling, and my right foot/leg was affected similarly, though to a lesser degree than my arm.
This is my concern: Was this an MS thing, or should I suspect a mini-stroke? I am 63, so mini-stroke isn’t out of the question, and I sure wouldn’t want to ignore a warning sign. Whaddya think?

There are things called TIA or Trans ischemic attacks. They are a mini stroke. Please call your MD and go in! Better to be told its an MS things and go home, then to find out it was a precursor to a stroke and be admitted for weeks.

I agree with the others, Marion. Better safe than sorry. At least if it is something that needs to be addressed you can have a choice in the matter versus being in an emergency situation that might cause permanent damage.

I just got out of the hospital with TIA. My husband and i were on the army base at the px. He looked at me and asked me if i was ok and i asked him why? He said the left side of my face was drooping a little. I told him i felt strange, i had pain in the lower left side of my head and my face felt funny to touch it. Then my eye started rolling up in my head only the left eye and kept on constantly blinking. By the time i reached the hospital i had a full blown mini stroke. i had echo grams, and ekgs, and mri and cat scan. Now i can hardly talk or see out of my left eye or side of my face. But good news is this will pass and i will be pretty much normal. unfortunately, most who have mini strokes will go on to have full blown strokes and possibly die if life style changes are not made. i quit smoking immediately. Full blown strokes are resulted from blood entering the brain and most paralysis is final. But with TIA, it is a preclusive warning of what will come if you don't change diet, exercise and quit smoking like yesterday. You know your body better than anyone even a dr. so if you feel weird. Don't chance it people get to the E.R. like yesterday.
