Default Update on RedPenguins and pregnancy...

Hi everyone,

Sorry it's been SO long since I've been here. Life has been crazy. Aside from being pregnant, I Worked through the entire pregnancy 45-55 hours a week....so no extra time or energy for much else.

Just wanted to update you though.

Today my daughter was born: Shae Brooklyn Z. She was born at 1:28pm, 7lbs even, 19.75 inches - after a near perfect pregnancy. NO MS-related complications (up until today when we were discussing my anesthesia options....that was odd and it scared me). She was born via c-section and now we watch closely to see if 1. the epidural will cause a relapse and/or 2. the postpartum period causes a relapse.

I have been in remission since my last dose of HiCy in May 2009....and I hope to continue that way - but we shall see. I'm really frightened right now about a bad relapse, but am hoping that the HiCy remains a strong contingent in my healing and recovery from MS overall. Sometimes I forget I even technically have MS. I guess time will tell. Haven't seen or spoken with neuro since last February, when I went to tell him I was planning on getting pregnant. I may try to see him next month to schedule a MRI before the year's end just to see what's going on up there. We'll see.

Anyhow, I wanted you all to know that I think of you guys often and hope everyone is doing well...

xo,
keri

Keri, Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. I love the name.

I wouldn't worry about having a relapse after the birth. If it's going to happen it will, worrying won't chance a darn thing. It may not happen at all, so why worry about it. That is stressful just being afraid of what if!

Enjoy your new baby girl. I bet Daddy and big brother are so happy. We are happy for you.

Whatever happens you can deal with it then. Don't go looking for trouble or you may find it. God bless your new baby daughter and the whole family.

Rest or nap when she sleeps, that you will need.
