A positive Babinsky indicates damage to the CNS; as such, it is not exclusive to MS. Stroke victims and others with nerve damage get to experience this.

I would imagine someone with cognitive or visual impairment (brain vs spinal damage) might not be afflicted.

Babinski is done as part of a neurological exam.

Here is some information about babinski reflex:

My left foot is like this, too. But I have pain in my right leg. My Neuro didn't do this test on me last time I went......and I got a pedicure and everything before my appointment. I should have asked for it but didn't think about it till I got home.

I have a positive babinski (abnormal) and I only have brain lesions, no spinal lesions.

My neuro does this every visit (scrapes the bottom of my feet), I never knew this was the Babinski, though I'd heard the term before.

He never said that I was a 'positive', or never said anything after attempting the test on either foot about anything being amiss. Interesting!
