Post AAN guideline: Plasma exchange effective in treating severe MS relapses, neuropathies

A new guideline from the American Academy of Neurology recommends using plasma exchange to treat people with severe relapses in multiple sclerosis and related diseases, as well as those with certain kinds of nerve disorders known as neuropathies.

this isn't likely to benefit many of us, as it must be very expensive. Many of us do have
neuropathies, maybe all of us. Neuropathies occur in any part of the body, both Central and Peripheral. Like the difficulty of breathing may be caused by neuropathy; I would say it definitely is, when it occurs in MS or other diseases affecting nerves there in the abdomen, but most people do not realize it is probably a neuropathy. Neuropathy rules!
Anything that helps it would help us, I think. I can't take the drugs developed for it, which help some people. I have VERY severe neuropathy in my feet now, due to other diseases including Polycythemia Vera. But I had mild neuropathy before that, for many years, in my feet. It caused me to fall down the stairs last spring and break my knee.
