I tired Cymbalta for pain and it is like Lexapro, I believe, a SSRI. My both eyes dilated and looked pretty in the mirror Lol. But the Neuro said do not ever take that kind of med again. It is doiing something to your brain/eyes.
Like an overdose on only 10 mg a day, I think it was. The smallest dosage it was she said, a free sample pack she gave me.. I was taking it to see if it would help the burning pain in my feet and legs. It didn't, and I was only on it a few days when this happened ,so I never got to see if it would work in the long run. ![]() You are on many medications. Any of them new?

Hi Lady.
![]() Cymbalta is a (SNRI)selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, not just a SSRI and can have a different effect. I stay away from SNRIs...they don't like me. I still think the old standby Prozac (SSRI) is the better choice, if you aren't allergic to it or have a bad reaction. It has the least sides and does not stay in your system long (halflife) so you don't have to wean off of it as you do so many other ADs.

Lady,
Ironically enough, I am on cymbalta (60mg) in the morning along with lexapro (20mg) at night. for some reason the lexapro mixed with lunesta does help me to fall asleep, but not as effectively as ambien used to. What sucks is I keep having very strange and bad dreams and I am waking up every single hour. For some reason doc doesn't want to change it again. I will talk to him when I go in next week about it. Olus side, my psychologist has been documenting the dream issues and the sleep issues so maybe he will get a clue.

You're right Sally, Cymbalta is the combo tablet. Thanks, I'm getting too lazy to look it up. I have been busy with my income taxes and lots of medical bills.
Eons ago I tried Prozac to please a pain in the butt Dr who made you take what he said you should have. I got free samples of them too. Gotta love those drug reps. ![]() After over a month on low dose, I had the same thing happen to me both eyes dilated. I was told not to use it again by him. He was my Internal medicine MD. He was also the head professor at a major teaching hospital here too. My Neuro said try Cymbalta for burning pain, many use it for that. Free samples too, and dilated eyes in less than a week. So whatever it is SSRI or the combo it is not good for me. We are all different. Some take Avonex with no problems when I took it 10 years ago, for a year, I had the flu for 4 days with fever and elevated Liver enzymes. Leggs, I hope you find out the cause. It may be serious. ![]()
