Hey everyone!
I will be taking my 5th and final shot of Acthar today. I will say, that the first day I had some really good improvements as far as gait/walking, and spasticity calming down immensely. But I am somewhat disappointed. I can feel my legs and feet (thankfully) but I still am very numb in my abdomen and my hands are numb, tingly, and very heavy feeling. The numbness in my hands is almost painful in my fingertips. I am praying that it's going to take a little longer for this drug to kick all the way in and that these problems are temporary and not permanent. I am staying positive, don't get me wrong, but I am a little scared because it seems the steroid treatments aren't working as well anymore. Which is one of the many reasons I didn't want to be on them the many times I have in the last two years. I want to be able to have something to fall back on when my times are the worst. I can handle most MS symptoms, I have learned to deal. But when that vertigo kicks in, or the immobility, I can barely stand to be in my own skin, and that is why I always so no to steroids, because the vertigo and immobility seem to ALWAYS be the main symptoms to come back. But I'm listening to the doc, sometimes I just don't feel like he listens to me, maybe he does and just thinks what he's doing is right... ![]() I don't understand why when I say.. 'I do NOT like drugs, and do NOT want to have to take them unless 100% necessary', they instantly try putting me on a slue of them... so. irritating. |

Yes improvements may still occur meeks after you stop the treatment. Say to yourself...I think I can, I think I can...... I know I can, I know I can............
