Default cold to the bone. anyone else?

Good grief with all of the spring snow storms my body is confused, but yesterday I felt like both my legs were ice cold. I took a warm bath, and that helped a tiny bit. Both still were cold to the touch, and splotchy and ached. it was like both my knees, ankles and feet were having toothaches. Right to the bone. Made walking difficult. I put on thicker pants, and rubbed my legs with some arthritits rub to help circulation. it didnt help. I went to bed. put on pants for PJs and layered on the blankets. It didnt help. Both legs were cold and achy. I dragged out the heated blanket, cranked it to high, and it literally took 3 hours before my legs warmed up. It was painful! I felt like my knees would break if I walked on them. Of course they didnt, but it was weird!

Call to the MS MD this morn reveals that this has happened to other MS patients. Its a bizzare phenomenon that the brain gets confused and the circulation to the legs can be compromised due to crossed or missed signals. My legs were not blue, so I know they were getting blood flow, but they were splotchy so I know it wasnt normal. They reccomended IVSM. Now, im not a jump to steroids kinda girl. esp since i fixed it with heat and rest, but WOW how wild is that?

Anyone else ever have that happen? its much better this morn.

That happens to me to sometimes, I thought it was old age, just another thing I can blame on MS. Hope you're good today. .

My hands get cold like this sometimes. It's painful! But why do they recommend IVSM for everything? If I did IVSM every time it's been recommended to me I'd be walking around with an IV pole instead of a cane.

Lightbulb

I get this when my blood sugar gets real low...

Also before my thyroid was normalized, I'd get this also, back when I had normal sugars.

Bone cold, I call it.

glad to know I am not alone. I dont grab IVSM for everything under the sun. I save it for visual stuff, or like the time I couldnt find my own words. I would want to say "hand me my jacket" and it would come out "grab the bike" really upsetting. I did allow IVSM for that. Other than that, I fight tooth and nail to avoid adding that stuff. it has long term consquences, and I dont want to pay later for cold legs today.

I feel like my legs are cold today, but not bone cold. it felt like my legs were frozen solid and it was painful. I am happy to have found my heated blanket after thinking of it as a way to help. I am normally a warm girl, and dont like heat, but this time I simply needed heat. It took a long time to work, but in the end, it did the trick and was helpful at pain control in the event. Today I feel like I ran a marathon. my legs are weak and tired, but not frozen.

Dear God this is such a strange disease. No wonder most MD think you are full of crackers before you are dxd. Frozen legs, blurry vision, tired, and distracted. oh yeah, thats worth a 2nd look. They simply roll their eyes at ya. I kinda dont blame um.

All the time!! I get in our snuggly bed with a down duvat on top of the regular comforter,(Duvat - for a sofa, smaller than a regular comforter but I'm not big, so it's perfect for one. DH gets too hot for one.) A fleece blanket thrown over my feet area. But I'm still cold. DH can't believe it, but then I slide one of my ice-cold feet over to his and he yelps at the freeze. He usually gives me another duvat then, shaking his head in dis-belief. Socks help some. Some.

I get that way too! I wrap blankets around my legs to warm them up. Once the muscles are warm, I feel a lot better and can get up and do more.
