When I had good insurance and only had to pay $10 for a 30 day supply I kept refilling it whether I needed it or not. I saw how much money the insurance was saving me and knew I couldn't afford it without insurance. First time I saw the actual cost of the drug (over $700) I nearly passed out! How ridiculous is that??? Needless to say, if I had not had such good insurance I would not have been able to get it.

Provigil and Insurance
My insurance company didn't want to pay for Provigil either until I called to challenge their decision. Many times they will say it is being perscribed "off label" meaning for something other than its original intension (narcalepsy etc). When I called, I explained that I did not have narcalepsy or whatever but it was being perscribed for MS fatigue. It took just the phone call to overturn their decision. Apparently, the insurance company did not recognize that I was given the perscription for MS fatigue......just MS.
Its worth a try......if it doesn't work, have your doc perscribe something cheaper. |
