Unless they take the ovaries as well, there is no need for HRT and you don't go through menopause until the normal age.
They took my uterus and cervix, but my ovaries are still intact. This is the more usual way they do it, unless there is a major medical reason to take them as well. Lyn |

I had just my uterus out when I was very young, but they left the ovaries. When I had breast cancer they insisted on removing my ovaries. it was a shock to my young body at first, but I adjusted quickly. There are many natural remedies out there as well. If I had the choice, I would prefer to keep my own ovaries, but if you have no choices, there are many ways to do what you need to do.

I still have one ovary. One was removed in 1986 when I had a ovarian cyst removed.
The more I read and research I think that a hysterectomy is not going to be the solution for me. I just have a mild prolapse. Plus, with all the sx I have with MS I really don't want to chance a major exacerbation.

Kitty they can go in from under, no cutting and a stitch or two to bring it back up to normal, bladder they do too if needed. Check it out.
Or a laproscope through the belly button and a few stitches to sew it back. Don't get it out unless you have to. Start reading up on it.
