Default Hard night!

Last night was a very difficult night (Physically). My leg stopped working, bathroom issues, became way too cold and was unable to get warm. I think I had a fever and my body was shaking and would not stop! I did deep breathing to help calm myself and took a diazapam (5mg) and Ibuprophens. I did not sleep much and could barely sit up to take my medications. My wife was very helpful and I called in sick at 6:00. I'm not intending to complain only saying what I experienced last night.

Sorry you had such a rough night last night. I hope you get some rest today and start feeling better.

Last night was not as bad as two nights ago but I did have very similar bathroom and leg issues. I wonder if it has been a response to the Ampyra med?

Do not take more than 2 Ampyra tablets in a 24-hour period. Do not use a tablet that has been broken or crushed. A broken tablet can release too much of the drug at one time. This can increase your risk of having a seizure. Stop taking Ampyra and call your doctor at once if you a seizure, pain or burning when you urinate, problems with your balance, numbness or tingly feeling, or a relapse of your MS symptoms.

Does any of this sound like your experiences? If so, may need to have a chat with the doc.

Hello Karilann. Thank you. Yes, no more than 2 in 24. I did not exceed that amount and I don't think one was broken but not sure. I will make sure on all the rest. Good advice. I know it's extended release and not to cruch or break. Pain in my spine bigtime, no burning but have had problems with balance and numbness and tingling the whole time and I was having an exacerbation and still am. Thank you for all the info and ideas on this.

Hi ya Doc..

I don't use Ampyra, but your symptoms sure sound like me and the Betaseron injections. (also had same result with Copaxone). I get chills/shakes so bad and my hands, toes and nose get so cold and just ache. I also loose use of my left leg while all that goes on.

I hope you are feeling better tonight.

Hello 2Kind2cats. Thank you for introducing yourself and for your thoughts. I'm sorry to hear both Beta and Copax both did the same to you. I had to stop Betaseron and might be switching from Copaxone to something else. We'll see in the next few weeks. Thank you for the good wishes.

Hi Doc, Welcome to the forum.

It sounds like a virus to me. JMO. Maybe not the medication at all. I had the flu in late Oct. and it was like that. Some school kids are getting colds that turn into pneumonia, so take care of yourself.

Their cold worsens, and they don't even know they have gone into pneumonia it happens so fast. Rest, drink fluids..you know the drill.
Take care and feel better.
