I have been referred to a physical therapist for the Bowen technique and have my first appointment tomorrow. I was wondering if anyone here has experienced this approach and if it was helpful to them.
Here is a link for more information about this approach to pain issues: http://www.bowtech.com/WebsiteProj/P...t/Welcome.aspx

I googled it. It looks like a form of massage or chiropractic therapy, and possible some sort of meditation.
It was developed in Australia. http://www.boweninfo.com/history.htm I never heard of it before reading this thread.

I've been to a Bowen Practioner who was also a chiropractor and had an office in her house. To be honest it didn't do a thing for me. She would do a simple manipulation to my muscles as I lay on my back and then she would leave the room for 10 minutes or so telling me this was a necessary part of the treatment.
It may be you get a better outcome but to me it was a waste of time. I never even received any bills or statements that she was paid for her treatment. Maybe she was still working on getting another certificate. Just give it a try and see what happens. Everyone is different. Gabriella |

Thanks for posting this as I'd never heard of this technique before. After watching a few of the videos on You Tube, it sounds like a gentle therapy that might actually help the chronic nerve/muscle pain and also the "literal pain in the butt" I've had for 15 or so years. I'm going to check into it, but I'm not too hopeful in finding a practioner in this area. Good luck and please let us know how you make out!
