Dej,
It's the one on the scalp and Motors Mommy's description of it that made me think of skin cancer. I had a squamous cell carcinoma removed from my scalp several years ago. |
I do T-Gel once a week, massage into my scalp and try to leave in as long as possible. It helps get rid the the things on my head (Seborrhea,Psoriasis?)and never seems to affect my grown out color whie apot or dyed red hair. But that's me.

I think I found out my problem-
[Eczema is like a thick chunky dandruff that peels off in big chunks and is more stubborn Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/6353913] |
yeah, the T-Gel (coal tar shampoo) can cause white hair to turn a little whiter. (it'll grow out tho)
I've had bits of gray/white hair in my mostly brown hair since I was in my mid-teens. When I used the t-gel, that made the couple of strands of white hair a little whiter, but it wasnt permanent. I was the only person who really noticed it. |
Hi MM. Good to see you posting again but sorry for the reason of the post.
I don't get that. But, I would have your dr check it out. There could be various reasons for it but since you were swimming at the shore and pool and now have a rash on your neck, it really needs to be looked at. The 2 may not be related at all. I do know of a few instances where people have gotten bacterial infections from swimming in poorly treated pools and they were pretty miserable for a bit with the rashes. The same can happen when swimming in lakes, ponds, and the ocean. So, please get it checked out. There could be lots of different causes of scalp sores and your PCP may be able to dx it and/or send you to a specialist to have them look at them. Start documenting when it happens and where as well as how you feel during the outbreaks. Take pictures if you need to so that you have them to show the dr. just in case you don't have any on the day you see your dr. (I just did that with some joint/tendon stuff I have going on just in case they aren't acting up when I see the rheummy next week). Let us know how you are doing. |
I'm allergic to something that makes my head itch after being outside. And sometimes I get a sore spot that I assume is a painful pimple of some sort. They last for about two weeks then dry up. Try to get the least perfumed shampoo you can find and see if that helps maybe? I had a hard time finding one without a scent.

sulfate free shampoos are becoming more popular because sulfates cause hair dye to strip out ten times more quickly than normal shampoo. It should be easy to try one.

I went to my local Sallys and picked up a bottle of Hair Now. Hope it works! I hate getting hair cuts with my scalp broken out.

Thanks everyone!!!!!
Of course the rash and sores cleared up completely the night before my doctors appt!!!!!! LOL....everyone is saying to use mild shampoos. When I feel I am getting little bumps? pimples?
