Raining cats and dogs out there, and I ended up with a tummy bug yesterday and spent the day sitting on the pot. My goodness! who knew a little girl could hold so much!

So, Im running a small fever today and that means im more blind than sighted, and since i have a dentist appointment (called and they still want to see me!) to have my teef cleaned I am not pushing myself past that. I am going to be very gentle with myself today.

I hope the rest of you are wiggling things.

Came back from vacation and went spinning tuesday night. Man oh man does a week of diving and eating double desserts catch up to you fast or what?

I also started having neck and shoulder pain again tuesday morning and by yesterday morning it was bad and getting worse. I went back to the orthopedic doc yesterday afternoon and this time he took xrays and dxed it as a pinched nerve in my neck. Said I had "a lot of bone spurs in there...thank your parents for that". On the bright side, he made no mention of disk issues.

He has given me a rx for naproxen and lyrica. I am taking the naproxen, but am waiting to heard from my primary care doc on the lyrica. From reading the prescribing info, that is a kind of scary drug, and I am not sure it is right for me. Naproxen takes the edge off, but really isn't fixing anything...just covering it up for a few hours.

Feel better TX..:hug::hug:

More trotting around town today. Had a really nice dinner of fish, veggies, and rice. Hubby and I had never cooked fish like that before (in the pan, stove top, breaded with flour, egg whites and crushed nacho chips for 'breading') but it turned out remarkably well (my parents recommended 'basa' filets. finding those were the hardest part of the dinner actually! Not many grocery stores carry basa here it seems).

So good dinner, relaxing day, did a lot of walking around town with hubby enjoying each others company :).

Erin524 09-22-2011 09:06 PM

I finally beat my boyfriend's high score at bowling on the Wii today (that took awhile!) and then I went to the gym and walked for 25 minutes (.52 of a mile!)

The walking made me feel better. My left knee has been hurting a lot lately, and because of that I've been sitting a lot. (weird that the pain is worse when I'm sitting) I went to the gym to see if the walking would stretch some of my muscles. It did, and it helped a lot!

I need to start walking on the treadmill every day. I just dont get there every day because I run out of time sometimes after my mom yells at me all day for imagined problems. (need to get her to a neuro. Think her 50+yr old head injury is turning into some sort of dementia)

Dejibo 09-23-2011 07:17 AM

I took a walk while I was still quite asleep. By the end I was awake, but it was a freaky feeling to be sorta marching around with a real brain to count on.

The change of seasons is really working on me. Perhaps I will switch to some thing indoor and calmer.

I hope you are all out there wiggling something in public.

dmplaura 09-23-2011 10:07 AM

Planning on heading back out today on the prowl around town. Made a breakfast of french toast and turkey bacon with maple sugar/cinnamon on the toast (used egg white instead of whole eggs - and it turned out very delicious!) and no sugar added maple syrup for hubby and I. Delicious! I love vacation... I never get a chance to cook anything 'fancy' when I'm busy working all the time.

Going to rain later on today ... hopefully the majority is during the overnight though. We've been spoiled with our weather the last week or so.

SallyC 09-23-2011 12:00 PM

I didn't know that Ohio had a monsoon season...lol.. Rain, humidity = lazy, sleepy.:o

Dejibo 09-24-2011 05:13 AM

The son was up and GONE at 4am! he wants badly to make up some missed ours at work, and since its a farm, he can clock in whenever he likes.

DH and I went out at 5am! Did a nice walk. now...DH is going out for the whole day, and I have the whole house to MYSELF! OMG! OMG OMG!!! im going back to bed!

Debbie D 09-24-2011 04:59 PM

DH & I did some yardwork...I pulled out summer's leggy flowers and the spent hostas...sprayed the container plants with pesticide before I take them indoors...worked about 1 1/2 hours...
Now my left shoulder blade is really hurting...I did my PT exercises and let warm water run on it...I hope it loosens up soon...

Dejibo 09-25-2011 06:19 AM

Cant stop crying the last two days, so out I went on my walk sniffling and looking like DH and I were fighting. UGH! too bad no one can really hear or see us. We will just have to become part of the rumor mill. Did my 2 miles and home I came.

Will get the house to myself today, but everyone here is sick with bad colds (thanks housekeeper girl with the snotty toddler) and we are all struggling to breathe and just stay sane. Not feeling well adds tons of stress and strain to me and I am easily cracked open lately, so its going to be a day of rest for me. No church. Dont want to be boo hooeing in church.

Get out there, wiggle something in public people!

Dejibo 09-26-2011 07:27 AM

no one else is wiggling things in public?? am I alone??

took a two mile walk today. didnt wanna, but I did it.

Erin524 09-26-2011 12:55 PM

Went to the gym yesterday. Was feeling really sore and stiff, and the treadmill walking seems to help.

I'm glad that I can walk nearly normal on a treadmill. Last night I actually sped the machine up a little bit to a speed I hadnt done before, and walked for 23 minutes and did .52 of a mile! I dont think that I'd done a half mile in that kind of time before.

My dad was impressed.

Woke up this morning and everything is stiff and sore. I really hate that, when I go to stand up and I have to slowly straighten out to get the muscles moving so I can walk around my room. Dont think it's from the walking. I'm always like that.

Dejibo 09-27-2011 07:03 AM

Walked 3 miles today. Muscles burning, calfs aching, head throbbing. I really didnt want to get out there, but I did it. The scale has been stuck and isnt moving. I think I need to get creative to make it move again. I want to drop the last 10 pounds, so...I have to be sneaky if I want to shift this last 10.

Get out there and wiggle something in public.

Debbie D 09-27-2011 02:46 PM

Worked out on a new elliptical machine for 25 minutes, then 20 minutes of stretching...

TXBatman 09-27-2011 03:22 PM

Did 50 minutes of spinning last night. Blew up at about minute 25...so the last half was no fun at all. It was race day though, so I had to go hard...

dmplaura 09-28-2011 02:55 PM

Been walking a lot since hubby was visiting (daily). He returned home this morning very early. I miss him horribly already, but I'll get to see him again late in January. :)

Went out today and walked quite a bit, will walk again after having dinner tonight. We both over-indulged while on vacation, so time to walk off the extra pounds. :p

Sorry to hear you had a tough time Dej  I hope you're doing much better.

Dejibo 09-29-2011 07:02 AM

im hot, half blind, and its humid. still got my 2 miles in. whined the whole way, but its over. :(

dmplaura 09-29-2011 07:37 AM

Did my 4.5 km walk last night after dinner. Did my toning while cooking. Had not done the toning exercises in 2 weeks and my muscles made sure I knew it!

Walked my 30 minutes this morning. Getting really chilly out in the mornings now. Was wearing my winter hat and sunglasses.... I'm not winning any fashion awards. ;)

I was planning on walking after dinner tonight, however they're calling for rain so I'll see how bad it is out there come evening. Will do my regular nightly toning again tonight while cooking... that I can do rain or shine. :)

Debbie D 09-29-2011 03:13 PM

Worked on a stationary bike for 30 minutes, then 20 min. of stretching and core work. Afterwards, took the pup for a 20 min walk.
It's great to be able to work out again without feeling like I'm going to collapse or pass out!!:D

Erin524 09-29-2011 04:12 PM

Turned my right ankle last night stepping on a couple of rocks in some landscaping next to a parking spot I parked in last night. Almost twisted both ankles but a really nice passerby caught me.

My ankle isnt too bad. I can walk on it, but it does hurt. Resting it today.

SallyC 09-29-2011 06:20 PM

Sorry Erin..

Did my usual hardcore stretches, wiggling for Dej, stand ups and sit downs... On the move..:D

dmplaura 09-29-2011 07:26 PM

Got my walk in this evening between rains! :) I was about to come home at the 2/3 point, and decided to keep going. Got the whole thing done! I don't like that it's getting dark so early mind you... I finish up work at 6:30 pm, and by the time I set out (usually around 7:15-7:30) it's already dark as heck.

Need my extra fall hour now!!! :p

Dejibo 09-30-2011 06:17 AM

aww, Erin...im so sorry. rest and read for a while.

Way to go Laura! im so proud of you!

Sal...you always make me smile.

Tx...keep spining!

Anyone else out there wiggling things in public?? Just us??

I did 3 miles today! I spent the night with a sour tummy, and it kept backwashing, so im over tired, but today is a new day! im going to keep wiggling things in public. Even if it upsets others. lol.

dmplaura 09-30-2011 07:21 AM

That's fantastic Dej!!! :) 3 miles is a great hike!

I woke up today feeling like crud. Slept on my neck weird or something... but it's manifested into something much worse now. Numb face/lips, nausea and hiccups, double vision and dreadful head pain.

I did go out to walk this morning for 30 minutes, thinking that would help the situation, and it did, temporarily. Now I'm home and the pain's returning full, my eyes are drooping terribly as well (and I got 8 hours of sleep last night too!).

Boss was understanding and I'm taking the day off. Feel like a cheese taking a day off just after having been on vacation, but you can't really plan for when you're going to be sick either.

TXBatman 09-30-2011 10:30 AM

My neck and shoulder are still killing me, but I went to spin last night. Last night was the "Moby" class. All the music was by Moby and we simply increase or decrease resistance to make our legs spin with the tempo of the music.

The idea is to always be riding at the point of endurance...with the main requirement for endurance being the desire to want to quit. So it basically means spin your legs with the tempo of the music and then turn up the resistance until it hurts to keep spinning at that speed. Then keep going until the song ends and the tempo changes. Wash, rinse, repeat for the next 45 minutes. Ouch.

Might go for a ride outdoors this weekend...had a cold front roll in last night and got RAIN!!!!! Supposed to be lows in the 50s and highs in the 80s over the weekend...great riding weather.

Debbie D 09-30-2011 03:01 PM

Took the dog for a short walk today...I'm exhausted from stress, so I'm taking it easy this afternoon.
Better than nothing, I guess:rolleyes:

hgrace 09-30-2011 05:26 PM

Keep going, all!

I am amazed at how active you all are... way to go! This pain stuff isn't for wimps! :) Heather

dmplaura 09-30-2011 07:54 PM

Time for a new exercise thread to begin tomorrow! :) Can't believe we're getting into October already... I'll be needing my exercise come October, it's my mega-over-indulgence month of the year. Scary stuff!

(Pumpkin ANYTHING = good to go!) :D

Is that Georgia's Stone Mountain? Haven't visited it in years. Looking forward to taking the grandkids maybe next summer

Erin524 09-30-2011 09:24 PM

My ankle feels better today, so I must not have hurt it too badly. I'm going to make my dad go to the gym with me tomorrow (he needs to exercise more than I do) and see if I can manage to do some decent walking on the treadmill.

Dejibo 10-01-2011 10:28 AM

HAppy October! I started a new thread. :grouphug:
