Default Kratom for pain? Anyone tried it?

I was researching the other night and I came acrossed an herbal suppliment that helps with opiate withdrawals. It also claims to help with depression and chronic pain. It is called Kratom.

Just wondering if anyone has tried it and how it worked for you. I ordered a small bottle so that I could try it to see how it works, I will keep everyone posted.

This stuff sounds really interesting. I hope someone posts about it. Please let us know how it works, Legz.

"and is sometimes used recreationally."

I'd be cautious at this point. Is this stuff legal, etc? Why is it used recreationally? I'd wonder what the stuff could do beyond it's 'intended' purpose. Be interesting to hear if people have tried it.

It sounds like something not to try, unless examined further. Thailand has is under a controlled substance law!!

Sounds a little like LDN (LDN is an opiad antagonist, at least at high doses)and it does help with some pain, but LDN doesn't cause highs or lows..

Be careful mixing this stuff with other meds you take!!

The recreational uses are normally in the form of smoking and teas. Talked to doc about it. He says I can try it and if it doesn't work I can go back on pain meds. Waiting for it to get here still.

I just ordered some. I really don't want to take the narcotic pain meds anymore. They contain acetaminophen which is really hard on the liver. I'm starting to look at a lot more alternative treatments for everything.

I've taken Tysabri, interferons, and copaxone (went into anaphylaxis and nearly died from that one). I don't believe this stuff will cause me nearly as much harm as all those meds did.

My Kratom came today! Took two. waiting to see what happens. Hoefully I won't start seeing imaginary people. But then again....

Oh, and I broke down and made the appt with my chiro tomorrow. I MISS HIM!!! It's weird, the 5 fractures and dislocated discs are from my t8 down, but the intense pain is right between my shoulder blades. He has agreed to adjust me from my neck to just above where everything was broken. Hoping it will relieve the pressure there and make the pain stop.

I've been doing a ton of reading on Kratom, Legz. Don't give up on it if it doesn't seem to be working. You may have to slowly increase your dosage to see what works for you. Good luck! I'll let you know what happens when I start taking it.

So far, so GOOD!!! I've been taking it for two days now. I've upped my dosage to five capsules and it is working great for me . I guess I better stock up before the FDA decides to outlaw it .
