Default Exercise thread October 2011

I have a horrible cold, and went out anyway. I walked one mile instead of three, but I got out there.

I hope the rest of you are out wiggling stuff in public places.

Wiggled 30 minutes this morning before work. Very light drizzle. Had my umbrella in hand.

Did my 20 minutes of toning tonight. Saturday night - Mom's phone call night. So no walk this evening. Good thing too because it got dark very early and has been pouring all afternoon/evening.

I will go out walking tomorrow though. I need to pick up some groceries and I want to buy a couple bread pans. Going to try my hand at making some carrot bread, since the hubby left me a ton of carrots in the fridge (I swear he was Bugs Bunny in a previous life lol).

So tomorrow's plan, despite the rain, head out to Paderno outlet store and get bread pans if on sale, then to grocery. First I'll stop in to my coffee shop though. Yay for Tim Hortons (my treat on my weekend!).

By the way... I received a shipment of pumpkin oatmeal bite-sized cookies from my friend, her special recipe. I'm glad they're only bite size, because they're delicious and I could honestly sit down and eat an entire box lol! I'm trying to lose the weight I put on while with hubby on vacation though. This'll be tough with those delicious cookies nearby.

(October is maaaaaaaaaaajor over indulgence month for me. Canadian Thanksgiving, and stores carry such yum baked goods. I'm in trouble!!)

Awww sweetie I don't blame you for taking it easy today. I wouldn't walk feeling like that either. Bed sounds heavenly about now lol. Hope you feel better soon!

I did go out and walk to get coffee today. Had to indulge and get a pumpkin spice muffin (they're already out, yay!!!!) and it was as delicious as I remember them being last year. Definitely scary territory!

Our weather has been super duper crappy today. Been out and walking around a bit since I had to take a bus to the GP, and that involves a bit of a walk to reach the various bus stops.

Haven't wiggled anything for several days now. Friday afternoon, my mom was trying to get out of her bed at the nursing home by herself (she has parkinsons and can't walk at all). She fell (of course) and landed on her kneecaps. She has a broken left tibia and a crack in her right femur. So we spent all weekend at the hospital with her.

Sitting in uncomfortable hospital chairs all weekend didn't do my neck and shoulder any favors, but I have an appt this afternoon with my doc to look at that again, then I head back to the hospital.

Mom may get released tomorrow, but nursing home wants us to buy new bed because "the rails she has on hers didn't stop her from falling out". Yep...they are right...because the nursing home staff TOOK THE RAILS OFF THE BED because they were too dumb to understand how to properly raise and lower them. Needless to say I am not buying a new bed...

Tested my pool chair. My father machined bronze bushings to replace iron bearings that rust, fall apart, stain carpet. My idea, I assembled it all the past 3 days. Works awesome & should for years to come.

10 laps today.

ok! im up! im up! feeling some better, but still in the breakdown lane. I did manage to drag my sad bum out onto the pavement this morning, and got 2 miles in. Walked more slowly and more cautiously than in the past, but its done. Came home drenched from the rain and jumped in a warm shower. REady to tackle the grocery store. Gawd, now there is a place that scares me.
