Sal I agree-except for nicotine. I only smoked for a few months and only a pack a week, but 20 years later I still get cravings...all I have to do is remember my dad lying dead of a heart attack on the kitchen floor to nip it...

Yeah, but you didn't smoke the nicotine to relieve pain!!

If I miss a dose of meds I notice. Try not to miss important ones that control pain! You do too much as it is!

i'm glad your doc is responsive to your pain needs.
i agree that taking it will be helpful. it's usually better to get on top of pain rather than to chase it. old nursing advice...

Judy, it's a delicate dance though...that's why I've always been so reluctant to use narcotics.

Debbie - I'm not crazy about starting narcotics either. I avoid them. In fact, I'm not crazy about taking any meds, narcotic or not. But I know I need them. I am only on a couple of meds now for MS and take lorazepam only as needed for bad muscle spasms (I reserve it and take it only when I can't take the pain/spasms). I hope you are feeling better and that the meds the dr. gave you are working.
