I never feel good anymore!
It takes me until noon to get a shower (if I do at all), and I am ready for my PJ's by 6pm. No time for my husband, he works two jobs now, and I just feel horrible. I don't work anymore (haven't for about 4 years) I only leave the house if I have to take the kids somewhere, or we need food. Still 3 of 5 kids at home....all teenagers now. I am just sick and tired of being sick and tired. Just thinking of Christmas decorating, baking and shopping depresses me. I have bought some things online. I am sure that most if not all of my shopping will be online. It just makes me sad!! I have went downhill for the past 2 years with no remission....however, I am dx RRMS. Anyone else feel like this? I read of people running, biking, exercising.....and I can barely make it through the day laying on the couch!!

So sorry Daisy, I know the feeling..
![]() Why not talk to your Doc/Neuro to set up some physical therapy for you. There may be strength in that tired body of yours and it helps you have a better mood, too. ![]() ![]()

The only thing I'd change in your post is that I haven't worked for 3 years, and I have no kids at home. Pretty much everything else is the same. Relate? Yup.

You are describing my feelings to a T...when I'm suffering a major bout of depression. Stupid MS causes this too...
Have you looked into trying an antidepressant? I go on and off Cymbalta (with doc's supervision) when I'm having trouble digging out of the hole I feel I'm in occasionally. Also, in the winter when the sun's hiding, I use a full spectrum light, because I know for a fact I suffer from seasonal affective disorder. And as much as I do NOT feel like it, I make myself work out, whether it's taking the dog for a walk, working out with Wii, or going to the gym. It gets the endorphins in the brain pumping, making me feel better. Make sure to address this with your doctor-he/she needs to know that this is going on!! It is a physical reaction, not just "I'm tired/in a bad mood etc". Take care of yourself... ![]() ![]()

I totally relate. It's been less than 3 years since my rrms dx and I feel the same. Except I have no kids, no husband and I still work. I only work cause I have to. Weekends are pretty much spent on the couch or bed. I've thought about getting a roommate cause these medical bills are eating me alive not to mention these student loans for an education that I can't finish or use now due to ms. Housework gets done when it gets done.
I look at it this way, it could be worse. I just do what I can do and fight the good fight. I can't find a good neuro close enough to drive myself. I can't seem to find anyone dependable to provide reasonable transportation to appointments. My primary is downtown Chicago and she is really good. I would say do what you can do and don't beat yourself up. These are just the cards you were dealt. You didn't do anything to bring this (bleep) condition on yourself. ![]() |

I can relate to how you feel. (minus the kids part). It's hard to feel crappy all the time. Each morning I wake up hopeful that today is going to be a day I am going to feel good, only to be disappointed a few hours after waking up. I still try though and try to stay positive. Some days that is easier said than done.
Talk with your dr(s) as others have mentioned. There may be better ways to manage your symptoms. I hope you feel better soon. ![]() |

Push yourself to feel better. If I think to much about MS it can eat you up. I am newly dignosed at 64. First I had my pitty party, poor me. People dont care about that neither does familey. I guess it is up to us to pick yourself up and try and feel better. I work so that helps, I am going to get some theripy and push myself to feel better. Dont let it get the best of you. Walk out on your porch and breath in the sunshine or fresh air. Go out and have a meal social with people, join a support group. Kathy

I felt like ---- till I started pushing my bod, taking B12 & testosterone. My back & head were ready to quit so I started pushing wheelchair but, to do so, I had to squash the pain. Took what I had to, exercised daily (still do), keep my testosterone level (yes you women have testosterone as well) & B12 at the top of range & never looked back. Swam 2,100 laps in my pool this yr, 800 last yr. I'm at mile 185 or so in chair for 2011 as well. Will make 200 by 12/31.
Buy small cheap mp3 player, Sony ear buds, have someone fill it with your fav music & hit the streets. Works. |
