Default Keep On Movin To Keep On Groovin!!!

Since my recent Weakness, fall and rehibilitation in the hospital, I can't emphasize enough, how important it is, for me (and you) to keep moving it, in order to not be losing it.

I don't want to ever be in that weakened condition again, when God gives me the ability to do something about it. I feel so lucky that He has given me the strength to fight back a little.

So, let's be each others cheerleader. If it can be done, let's do it (not overdo it). I may not walk normally again but, two months ago, I couldn't even stand up, much less stay up, without falling right back down again.....now I can!!!

Thanks for being my cheerleader, since DH has passed..

Sally you are such an inspiration! Your positive attitude and generous spirit always help me see the brighter side. So glad to hear your rehabilitation is a positive experience. I realized after I broke my ankles in September that I don't want to waste time sitting when I can still walk.....even if I wobble!

Rock on Sister!

You're so right about this, Sal...if all of us, healthy or not, don't keep on moving as we age, our quality of life will be so much worse...and also, as an addition, we need to be socially engaged. Those of us who cocoon will see a risk of dementia...

Thanks for reminding us all...now get out there and be active!!

Thanks for the reminder. I've been having such a time with my left leg this month. Yesterday it didn't want to cooperate at all and I spent alot of time on the couch.

I need to ask my neuro about possibly getting some PT here at home......or at least some exercises I can do by myself. It scares me sometimes how weak that leg can get.

Sally you are so right. I learned the hard way that I'm lucky to be able to do what I can do. Since my fall I've been trying to strengthen myself as much as I can. I'm now coming off of 2 weeks of no exercise (yet again!) and so looking forward to going to the gym tomorrow. I'll have 2 weeks of being able to exercise before I find out if I have to have knee surgery. I now cherish every day that I can exercise or get out and keep moving.

And that's why I stay active here at PT. It keeps me involved in other peoples lives and is also very entertaining, when ya can all tear yourselves away from that phoney Facebook..

I check into FB, mainly to see now the kids are doing, since they don't seem to know how to use a phone (and I'm phonephobic).
I miss all of our old friends here

I went a couple of times to a local MS support group (don't ask), but once a PT from the hospital came to speak with us...she was very knowledgeable about MS, and she gave us a handout with suggested exercises.

I wonder if any local hospital's PT department would help that way?
