Unhappy Week 5 still numb..

Hi everyone,

I'm not dx as of yet.. I'm in my 5th week of numbness drop foot and numbness and jerkiness in my left arm.. I finally got an appointment for the MS clinic in Toronto.

I'm glad I'm seeing the same ms neuro/specialist that I saw 3 yrs ago maybe now I will get a definitive dx.

I have had to take a sick leave from work and we are putting our house up for sale to move back home closer to family... I'm really surprised these sx have been so constant if anything getting worse..

Thanks for letting me vent
Cindy

Cindy,

I am sorry that this is still going on. MS is hard.

Good that you are seeing the same MD at a MS Clinic. Also good that you can take a medical leave.

Venting is one of the reasons these forums are here. Don't hesitate to stamp your feet or deflate your stress here.

Please let us know what happens at your appointment.
ANN

PS- Have you had no treatment? Steroids?

Hey Cindy,

I'm sorry you're having these symptoms. I hope the clinic can help and get you closer to a definite diagnosis. I know how frustrating limbo can be. Keep us updated on how your appointment went. Good luck with the house sale. Try to keep your stress levels down. I know......good luck with that.

Cindy, so sorry that you are still having so much numbness. I guess you haven't tried any of the meds yet to see if they help?

Lets hope your old Neuro can DX and start you on something helpful.

Keep us up to date and take a deep breath...........oh! and let it out.

No treatments, the only thing pcp has given me is Lyrica and Elavil.. which basically they do nothing.. constant feeling of buzzing from head to toe.. trying to remain positive have a great support system at home..just get frustrated because the longer I go without treatment the more damage occurs..

I truly get inspiration from everyone here because everyone here "gets" it... don't feel so alone.

Thanks for cheering me up.

Cindy, when is that appointment? You don't have to suffer. Call and ask to speak to the nurse. Tell her "it's been 5 weeks buzzing from head to toe." Maybe they can see you sooner or get some treatment started.
