Default Less sick of winter

Funny how perpective can change things. Used to be I'd had all of winter I could stand by the first of January. Dark, cold, slippery. Ugh.

I'm still not crazy about winter, but compared to summer? I am so miserable in the hot weather, I dread mid-June through the first part of September.

I have a relative in Georgia who teases me (lovingly) about never going out the door all winter. Well, if I lived at her house, I'd never go out the door all summer!

I think there are only about ten days all year that I'm really happy with the weather. Yes, I'm exaggerating. But how life has changed!!

I feel fortunate that I live in Northern Michigan where the summers are perfect and the nights cool down so you can sleep.

The winters can be a bit rough, but where I live doesn't get the lake affect snow,
so things are not too bad. Plus it seems to me the sun shines a lot more up here than it did when I lived in the lower part of Michigan.
A lot less humidity in the summer up here too.

I spent 5 weeks in the summer of 2009 around Tampa Florida, it was way too hot and muggy for me. There was a couple of hours in the morning and a couple in the late evening when I was comfortable, the rest of the time was spent indoors.

I can deal with the cold, the ice and snow are a problem though, they keep me indoors. Last summer here was hot, and the wettest on record, so you can`t win?

I dread summer. The heat and humidity do not get along well with MS. And it seems like it's getting just a little hotter each year. Last summer there were weeks that I didn't set foot outside. Thank goodness for air conditioning.

Funny you should mention it BY2, I just got back Wednesday from Florida.

Last year when I went to Florida for 2 weeks, I loved it, couldn't get enough of it, didn't want to get back on that airplane to return to Winter.

This year, entirely the opposite. We have had a milder Winter, and not as much snow as we normally do (until February that is), but Florida was hot and muggy as heck, much more so than last Winter.

My MS symptoms flared a bit while I was there. I was on vacation, with hubby, low stress situation... yet 2 mornings I woke up with dreadful head pains and I experienced bad leg spasms like I haven't had in months.

I was so relieved to be back in the cold weather when I got off that plane on Wednesday evening. I truly am a person who appreciates 4 seasons, and Winter!
