Confused Another dumb symptom?

Had a really bad day today...it started off just fine. Typical busy Monday at work. No real problems except same annoying tingling feet & itchy feeling as the neurotin wears off before my next dose.

My boss says that I was filing & that she and my co-worker called out to me. I remember feeling weird (yes, I say weird alot about some of these symptoms) and my vision was strange. The lights faded & were kinda like the dark yellow that the sky gets before a storm. Weird but true.

I don't recall them talking to me. I was standing & I didn't pass out but I was unresponsive. When I came back from wherever I was...I was shaky & crying.

My boss called an ambulance...I let them check my blood pressure & responded to their questions. Was I wrong not to go to the hospital? Has anyone else had that happen? Other than a few muscle spasms in my toes & in my calf muscle (weird symptom that started this past week), I'm fine.

Thanks for any response...

That sounds awful. Can't suggest any reasons, sorry. and only you can decide if you should have gone to hospital i guess. Hope it doesn't happen again for you.

I would definitely see your doctor as soon as you can. It could be just some MS weirdness, or it could be something more serious. Don't guess. Rule out other stuff. And keep us posted!! How frightening that must have been for you!

I agree with B2y...see your doctor .

My first thought (which could be wrong) was some sort of seizure.

(((((New2net)))))

How scarey for you and for your co-workers too. Yes, that's the first thing I thought of, is a seizure.

I don't blame you for not going to ER but, you should seek your Doc's care. It may have just been a one time event, brought on by stress. I hope so.

I've had strange visual symptoms before but nothing similar to what you described. Mostly blurry or double vision. Or nystagmus.

MS can affect the portion of your brain that controls emotions. I forget what that part is called but we've discussed it here before. Maybe someone will post about it.

I hope it was a one time thing. That must have been scary.

Default The only thing close...

...I could find online was a child-type of seizure also, that fit what I felt & what my co-workers described...so will see Neuro next Monday...the appointment I already had. My primary sd don't drive; so I won't, as I already had periodically stopped because of vision issues. Also, I am under strict instructions to go to the ER if it happens again.

Yes it was scary & I hope it doesn't happen again. Thank you for all the kind words.

I'm sorry to hear about your event. It is scary when that happens. It has happened to me a couple of times. For me, they are absence seizures. If it happens again, definitely go to the ER. In the meantime, I will keep you in my prayers and update us and let us know how you are doing.

Default definitely sounds like a partial complex seizure

fancy name, but can be caused be a lesion in the temporal lobe of the brain

They can be hard to diagnose---I'd be concerned about driving b/c if it were to happen again you could get in a bad accident

Definitely get it checked out (my guess would be an MR and an EEG)

Take care
