Sally, maybe it's because having a hospital experience can make you hypersensitive, give you creepy thoughts and feelings.

On the other hand, why do you feel you might have a heart or BP problem? Are you having symptoms that concern you? If so, by all means have yourself check out. That's not hypochondria, that's being your own health care advocate. And common sense.
