So I have a question about you all tremors for those that have it. Do you have them all the time? like once they start do they ever stop through out the day?

Mines come and go like they will start when I get up and as the day goes by mines will stop or slow down. I can have a tremor and I can start using my hands and they will stop and I have them in both hands. and then my fingers will start twitching and I can drop my phone or what ever I was holding in my hand and I will call people or hit keys I was not trying to hit because my finger just dropped. But then all that will stop until later or until the next morning. 3 days ago it was happening all day.

My doctor just told me today that MS tremors are not like that.

Hi Shadi. Some Docs kill me in what the say that MS does and doesn't cause. My old Neuro used to listen and maybe say, "that's a new one", but she would never say that it was not an MS symptom. She knew better, being a well educated MS specialist.

If you have MS, then your tremors, twitches, tingles, spiders, numbness, shocks, stiffness and pain are most likely caused by your MS.

Shame on your Doc. He/she should be helping to validate your symptoms. If it's not MS, then he/she should prove it and not make you feel responsible for your own illness or just a nut.. grrrrrrr.

Yes I am very confuse because she is the one that told me that I had MS. and now she is saying she think that everything is coming from my kidneys so she looked for a tumor and there was none so now she is sending me to a endocrinologist. because she don't understand why my blood pressure went up so high when I had the steroid infusion and that the steroid should have cleared everything up but it didn't everything came back.

So today she told me to drink tonic water with cranberry juice for the spasm in my calf and she act like I just told her for the first time about the vibration in my thigh last year so now she want to see the test from the electrons I can not remember that test where they put the wires on you.

well anyway I am just all over the place because she is all over the place.

My tremors are extremely similiar to yours. I can wake in the morning and be fine and then within an hour or so have tremors so bad I cant pick things up or drop things. Cant hold my hands still, they shake everywhere. Sometimes I wake up with them and they slow down in shaking thru out the day.

The tremors ARE from the MS, at least in my case. My neuro comfirmed that for me, he says you get so many sensory problems and nerve problems from this, and tremors are a part of it. He also said not everyone with MS will get them, but it is very common.

They do have a med for the tremors. Im not taking it because I hate pills and I take baclofen for my spasms and it seems to help with my tremors too. I figure when the baclofen no longer helps, I will try the tremor med. I cant recall what its called, sorry. Maybe someone else can remember the name or perhaps they are taking it themselves. I hope I helped you even alittle. Your sooo not alone in this.

It sounds like what you are experiencing resting tremors. I don't have resting tremors. I do have essential tremors (not related to MS - hereditary condition) and intention tremors (related to MS). During a neuro exam, they can tell the difference. For me, my tremors act up when I go to perform a task such as writing. And, yes, I have dropped many things. lol

Is the dr. that you saw a neurologist? And, how did she diagnose your MS?

for the DX I had MRI and VEP and LP. I have old lesions but no new ones and they say my eyes are normal but the LP came back with 3 bands and that is when she said it was MS along with my symptoms. I some times can not walk good on the bottom of my feet. I had burning feelings in the feet toes and arms before. I had cramping in my fingers. I had numbness in my mouth and throat closes. oh and lets not forget the nerve pain that shoots through my arms to my fingers some times.

She is a neuro but I am not sure if she is a MS specialist. It is really hard to get appointments with the MS specialist. I am waiting to go now and I can not get in until July.

so how many of you have are taking gabapentin? and how can you tell if the gabapentin is causing your tremors and twitches? I was on gabapentin before all this started because I have degenerated disc disease. But I was on it a while before these tremors started.

I don't have tremors but I do have spasms. Mainly in my legs but I've noticed them in my arms lately, too.

I've been taking Baclofen and it seems to help. It does make me tired throughout the day and I do sleep more when I take it.

I've been noticing that my legs will jerk periodically....especially at night but maybe I just notice it more then because I'm still.

I'm not thrilled to be taking the Baclofen but it does seem to be helping. The prescription says to take it 3 times a day but I usually just take it twice. I haven't needed it in the daytime hours but towards evening my legs start getting tense and I know if I don't take it I'l be sorry later.

I was taking Gabapentin when I was first dx with MS but it didn't really help with the spasticity sx and made me gain weight. I no longer take it.

I just came from my primary dr today and he has told me to drop one dose of the gabapentin which I really wanted to do because every since they put me on the highest dose they could give me I have been out of it. and it was making my tremors worst which I believe. He did acupuncture on my kidney channel today and I feel a little better.

He is also going to send me to another neuro at Jefferson Hospital which is a MS provider. So I am glad about that.
