I don't understand how one ms'er could begrudge another. That's like me begrudging a non ms'er. When I had to define my philosophy for teaching, I believed "What would an A be worth if every student got all A's? Variety is the spice of life. I think the people who wanna make you feel bad for not having a more severe form of ms is not happy with themselves. I wouldn't wish the mildest form of ms on anyone.
I know nothing can replace human interaction in 3-d but you can get all your support here until you find a face-to-face group that is truly supportive. |
I don' t get this at all. I am part of a (small but) fantastic group of MSers who get together at least once a month for support, meals or education.
We range quite dramatically in terms of level of disability, age, sex, and disease type. I could not imagine how awful it would be to resent others with MS and treat them badly. We have absolutely no distinction in terms of support, and there is no resentment, nastiness or 'I have it worse than you...' going on. It is always positive, warm and caring - the way support is meant to be. |
I was a member of a great group like that years ago and the members with lighter MS helped the more disabled members get to the meetings and other functions we had. We were family. :)

And that's exactly the way it's supposed to be. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. |

Yes I need the money, but the feel good helping worsely(new word?) disabled people than me....is something I want to do. I know in many years I MAY need this service....so....may as well start into it now:D |

Sounds good - karma, what goes around comes around, paying it forward....however you describe it, it is so true.

Good for you.
