I take copaxone. So, I was having problems giving the injections in my legs, so SS told me to use the autoject and set it at 4 and that should stop the problems I was having. Well, it didnt, so I have stopped the leg shots. Anyway, from the last leg injection about 2 months ago, I still have a lump where the injection was given. Im starting to get concerned because for the past month it hasnt given me any probs so I thought it was gone and then one of my cats jumped on my leg on that site and it was very painful. I went to the bathroom and felt around and bingo, there's the lump. I seriously thought it was healing because I felt around and felt the lump but it didnt hurt so I thought it was on the mend. Then, after no pain, I had really forgotten about it til the cat. Anyone else have long lasting lumps from copaxone?

I had some lumps that took a full year to go away. I do have some questions for you tho.
is it hot? red? inflamed? Do you have any red streaks leading away from it? It could be a cellulitis which can result from injury or trauma to an area of skin or muscle tissue. I would suggest having your MD look at it. More quickly if its red/swollen/angry but if not, just have it peeped at during your next check up. Auto injectors for ALL DMDs are tricky. its a balance of shooting deeply enough to get the meds in, while being shallow enough to not nick a muscle (unless you are on avonex) and each of us has our own personal layer of depth on our bodies. I used the side wall of my thighs because the top side had virtually no fat, just a lot of muscle. I found a nice fatty pad on the side to jab. I chose my hip versus my bum bum because if I got a lump I found it uncomfy to sit or lay in my chair. I used the back side of my arm where more fat lives. Learning these things on YOUR body is an experience. Best of luck. ![]()

No, no lasting lumps for me. I manually inject (yes, I'm back on them. Fear of the returning symptoms was enough) and apart from one dent in a thigh and some dark streaks on my belly, the injection sites have never been an issue. Like Dej says, maybe cellulitis/infection?

Every time I see the title of this thread, "Have a lump", I think, "No thanks, I already have some."
![]() I still have a few lumps from months and months ago, maybe even years. I don't know why some went away and some didn't. But I also have lipomas, and though they are usually smaller than the Copaxone lumps, that's not always the case.

i would watch it carefully because it's red and it's been so long since that particular injection. you might consider having your dr check it out.
i too have lumps that last after injections. i've been injecting 9 yrs and some sites i can't use anymore. i used to use my autoject a lot and switched to manual because of that problem. manual has improved my problems a lot. try some ice packs on the site. i've had 2 times where i've stopped my injections for 2 wks to let my body settle down. (don't do this without your dr's approval). it helped. i also just set up an appt for an RN to come out and re educate me on the shots. i wonder if that might help you too.
