Hello you lot,
I just realised that I've never introduced myself to most of the new members of late on here. My name is Chris, and I've been a member since last August when we were brand new. I've been interacting with several of you in other posts but have just gotten around to reading this thread. It seems as if many of you know one another, and I'm glad you are all here. I don't post often, but now that there are some more members, and things are beginning to liven up, I may have to stop by more often to brighten up my evenings. I am still working full time as a Nurse Midwife, and have also just found out that I am pregnant myself. I've had several miscarriages in the past, so we are holding our breath for now. I'm originally from GB, and came over to the US to become a CNM. I trained in NYC, where I met my husband and we moved to FLA.where we were until March when we were transferred to GA. We are presently in the process of building a new home, and also in the process of pulling our hair out at the same time. I had been on Avonex and was about to start on Tysabri before we found out I was pregnant again. I look forward to meeting and interacting with all of you. Once again, WELCOME, YOU LOT! All the best, Chris |

Hey Chris
Building a house can be fun! We've built three. Would I do it again? Only if I locked my DH up in a cage and gagged him. Then it would be fun! :D He gets in the way and it always ends up being my way anyway, so why does he even bother! Two rules: never ask permission, it's easier to apologize, and wait til he leaves and do it your way! LOL! Nice to meet you! And don't believe anything AMN says....:p |

*pulling Chris in for a whisper* Keep your eye on that one, you never know which one of Sybill's sisters will pop out. *backing slowly away* |

I too, failed to intro myself here. I am Beth and have been dxd with MS for (I can't believe) 10 years now.
Moved out here from OH in 2005. Love, love love it here! I don't work, but had most excellent PT job back in OH. I hated to give it up, but SO lived here and so I followed. It was a great move. I had lived with family since dxd and they had babied me so much, that I did nothing for myself. My laundry basket was taken up and down stairs. Groceries were carried in for me. Nothing was expected of me such as helping clean or cook. Since coming out here, I've had to do it all and learn to drive a stick shift too. Whoa! that has been the greatest challenge. I have weakness on my left side and my hands (palms) are so hyper sensitive that touching/holding is so painful. I've not found anything to relieve pain, and not make me so sleepy that I can't function. I have been reading and posting all month and so enjoy this group. I too live for chocolate and did the dreaded roids 4 times in '06. Found an easy baked custard recipe and ate more then my share.:D So weight is an issue. I had planned to start a walking program, but fell, sprained my ankle and rolled over a 3foot retaining wall to the grass below. Walking is going well, but wearing a brace and in pain. I hope to get to know you all better and keep on keepin on. Beth |
Hi Beth!:Wave-Hello:
It's good here isn't it? I quite like it. Now about those retaining-wall stunts... no, no! DaisyMay is our resident stunt woman, she is just busy tending to her dear Mom right now. I nominate you for Understudy!;) |
