Frown Snap out of it!

Tears again this morning. I was fine a few minutes ago but this depression keeps creeping back. This crying isn't pseudobulbar effect like it used to be. Now there really are dark thoughts. Come ON, Sparky...it's been a month and a half now. GET OVER IT!

I'm just floundering here. There's no more routine to my life. I don't even walk every day anymore.

Help?!

Step one - I just wrote a list of menu possibilities for the upcoming days. I used to love making lists because it was such a great feeling of accomplishment to scratch out the items as they're handled.

Maybe I'll write things done as I do them today. That's an accomplishment list, right?

Sparky,

Taking action is a good step! And I am with you on the lists- love to cross things off and add things that I've done that weren't on the list and cross those off, too!

So, what are you cooking tonight?

I hope you feel better. If the pulling yourself up by the bootstraps approach doesn't work, seek help. And keep talking here.

ANN

you are grieving for your old life. its NORMAL! please, allow yourself the space and time you need to grieve over the loss of your job, your friends, your responsibilities, your usefulness, and then...SNAP OUT OF IT!

God closed a door, but he opened a window. You have new friends, new responsibilities, and new road to travel. You can actually get stuff done in YOUR house, instead of taking care of everyone elses. Take the time to garden, smell the flowers, take a walk, sit on the porch, watch a good movie! As you adjust to your new life, you will find that you are going to be amazed at just how much was being asked of you in your old one. You have earned the rest. Nap!

And if you can't snap, then walk. If you can't walk, then crawl. Don't give up if sometimes you're just marching in place, or even slip back a step. Just keep going the best you can, and know we're all behind you. I'll be praying.

sparky,
for you. i understand feeling a loss for things that you have given up.
the list is a great idea.

even if it's to walk down the street and back. smell the air and look up at the sky.

you're in my thoughts and i'm giving you the bestest hug.
