I'm sorry to hear about more bad treatment on Indian reservations. I am surrounded by reservations here in Los Alamos, and I cross two of them every time I go to town, i.e., Santa Fe. Most of the hispanics I know here (80% of our state's population) are part Indian and have fascinating heritage. The first hispanic settlers here were Maranos, i.e. descended from secret Jewish escapees from first Spain and then Mexico. Not many families, and the hispanic/Indians I have had doing handyman stuff for me are descended from one of the first hispanic families, the Romeros. My hematologist is a 100% hispanic, you can tell this because he is pale-skinned, paper white almost. I have been pulled over twice for speeding on the San Ildefonso reservation, and once I had to go to Indian court. The judge was mortified because I was sickened quickly by the rug cleaner in the court room, and told the bailiff to get me out of there and take whatever spare change (not much) as the fine. She understood the problem immediately. The people at the church I attend do not understand this problem and, in spite of promises, have again poisoned the rug in the meeting hall, and I will not be able to go there for months; this has happened over and over and at this point I really am fed up with it. I am rambling but just wanted to say I have sympathy with the Indians.
When my husband died, the night before (all night) there was muted Indian drumming and chanting in the room. Three nurses asked me where the drumming was coming from. My son tried to find the source, could not, went all around the building in the snow. I have never understood why this happened, but we are living here on the former
Pajarito Indian land. Irv was not especially interested in Indians or Indian rituals. I talked to several pastors including an Indian Christian pastor who is on a Christian TV network about this, and the Indian pastor said I should consider it an honor for Irv. I do consider it an honor, but it's way beyond my understanding.

Although we have amazing knowledge compared to just 100 years ago, what we know seems to be equivalent to a snow flake on the tip top of an iceberg....there's so much more to discover and know about that is located above the surface of the vast ocean of our perceptions, never mind what is hidden from view beneath.

How wonderful when we get a peek of these things.

With love, Erika

I do know that when they would spray around any apartment building or prison for roaches and such I would get very ill. I would shake,my head would pound, I would vomit, and not be able to think. The head nurse thought I was faking to get to go home, but she was a beeotch and thought everyone but her deserved decent treatment. I got screamed at once because I called some kid nappy headed. The head nurse was from india and the black assistant hauled me into their office and screamed at me like I was a small child and lectured me for 45 mins on discrimination, and threatened to end my career and prissy little white girls like me....when they were able to stop screaming I said "im sorry if what I said offended anyone, but where I was raised it was and still is a description of knotted, tangled hair and my mother to this day uses it to describe ME! so, if you feel its offensive or racist I am sorry, but I had no idea that an old southern term would be used as such. They both quickly jumped back on me to tell me "as a white woman raised in the lap of luxury with my Yale education...I had enough. I stood up and they were screaming "where are YOU going" I said "look, since YOU clearly have NO idea whom you are screaming at, I am taking my leave, I am going to human resources first thing in the am to file a complaint against BOTH of you. Had you bothered to check my file, instead of judge me by the color of my skin you would know I am a full blooded native american. I was raised in abject poverty that would make cringe if I dragged you from the projects and asked you to live there. I dont allow the bureau of indian affairs to speak to me this way, why would I let you? They both almost fell off their chairs. I went to human resources and complained the next day. BOTH were fired. I guess they had been bullying white nurses for years and finally went too far. My goodness! since when did being a nurse give you license to treat others like crappy toys?

I am gagging down some of the stuff she gave me. UGH UGH UGH!!! I spew, spit, snot run, and I stand and gag while I dance.

I walked 5 miles yesterday. I was able to do quite a bit of housework AND I made the DH drive me to TJMaxx to buy new pillows for the bed which I have been putting off. I made some phone calls to peeps I havent talked to in a while. I mailed all of the thank you cards for those that attended my b/d party. Went to the gun store, and got a new piece. love it!

Wonder what I will get done today? I feel so much better! I feel my energy rising. I feel my mood that has been blocked by black clouds clearing. I am actually cooking again! step by step.

Whooo, what a week! I have chased down family members, and talked about memory lane with folks who remember it so differently from the other guy. So, I did find a few things out.

1. 3 housing projects I lived in with the Navy were constructed in the 1960s AFTER AO was used to clear the land so that it could be constructed into housing. After the base housing was errected more AO was used to "landscape" and used in what was then considered to be acceptable government concentrations. My father was indeed affected by AO and back in the day we didnt know what we didnt know. on autopsy AO was found in his lung tissue and liver tissues. Hm...

2. DDT was a common pest control project in the navy housing blocks. Back in the day they didnt tell you to close your windows or bring in your kids, or hide your dogs, the truck would circle the projects over and over and spray it over your head while you were playing on the playground or even in your front yard. This changed in 1973 and it was asked that you close your doors and windows and keep pets inside.

3. AO was admitted to be sprayed into the back woods of NC during the 1950s and 60s to control the "indigenous weeds" or Kudzu vines that were becoming overpopulated and strangling out land designated for housing, farming, and living facilities for the Indian reservation. It was used to clear the land more quickly, easily and without having to use construction equipment that would not have been able to access the areas designated as a problem since it was on mountain sides and other areas considered to be inaccessible.

4. DDT was a commonly used pest control method used in ALL reservation lands around the USA. Its used was stopped in 1976. no warning or precautions were given to the residents, workers, or surrounding towns of its use as in the day it was a considered to be a safe effective way to exterminate mosquitoes and other flying insects.

I didnt know but tobacco was used in the mixture in some states as being an effective deterrent for many flying pests.

So, is my exposure to AO possible? yes! I am shocked that I was not aware of this. How is it that we dont know these things? it took me days and days and days of digging thru the internet to find this stuff. 99% of what you see on the internet on AO is about vietnam or vets.

onto my week. I have had a good bit more energy. I am cognitively more aware, and more capable. My psoriasis has all but gone. only one tiny patch left. my skin is much less red and I am much cooler than I was. I actually turned off my AC a few times as I felt you could hang meat in my room. Even the cat was shivering.

I have pushed my walks further without struggling. I have a better attitude. I am feeling stronger, and more balanced. My left foot has stopped buzzing. I still have the hug, and while I used to have 10 or more visual/actual migraines per day now I get one or two every 3 or 4 days. My vision is clearer during times of non migraine time. During migraines my vision goes right back to being awful.

I am taking all of my yucky suppliments, and have been shopping to find the exact same ones without paying those in office prices. That is what was so expensive. I found some $60 bottles for $7.99 in places. I am making sure to get the exact same product and not just the same name. I want the brand as well during the next round. After that it wont matter if I dont get the same brand. There is only one med I will have to get from her because she uses her computer to charge it with electrons.

Its been a week of research, but I feel so grateful that I have been able to read the internet and search for things I need. I used to get a good start, then get a migraine and walk away in defeat. I will let you know after I see her again on Wednesday.

Default As far as --

Agent Orange. In this country 2 4 5T is the equivalent of what was called Agent Orange. The big difference is that Agent Orange had dioxins in the herbicide. They were not removed when the government purchased the herbicide. (Agent Orange was a code name for defoliating the jungle). It is not an herbicide of any particular kind. 2 4 5T or 2 4 D most likely were used to get rid of the weeds and brush. Neither of those two herbicides contained dioxins. Agent Orange did.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agent_Orange

Herbicides used excessively and recklessly per Viet Nam at least 13 times the recommended rate, is going to cause and did cause serious problems. The problems of that spraying still persist today. Remember, it was 13 times the recommended rate of the USDA.

DDT, I remember it well. We would be at drive in movies and they would be spraying it. We sprayed it on the cattle for insect control. Just about all the World War II veterans had a powder with DDT in it that they used for lice, bed bugs, any kind of insect. Probably a third of those vets escaped serious health effects that would have been caused by the insects if DDT had not been used. As with many things DDT was abused and it did cause serious problems with birds, etc.

Dej I am sorry for all the trouble you are having. Hopefully, you will get better and better.

In vietnam AO was mixed with jet fuel and sprayed on out laying villages to force the populous to move toward the inner cities and deforesting the jungle giving the rebels no place to hide.

It was named Agent Orange because of the orange barrels it was transported in.

Default Agent orange....

Thought I would share this bit on AO and Genetically Modified Crops. This is troublesome to me.

http://www.organicconsumers.org/gelink.cfm

Rachel Carson's book, Silent Spring was written 50 years ago and it is even more pertinent today. Chemical pesticides continue to do harm. She brought to light the devastation brought on by DDT.

We have often wondered how/why my husband got ill. Unless the medical community can directly correlate a recent, high dose exposure to something, then the cause is considered "idiopathic". Most with Severe Aplastic Anemia are categorized as idiopathic. Most likely, exposure occurred 30+ year prior to the onset of illness. And like Dej who knows what we've been exposed to.

I am very excited about your progress and know you will end up resolving many of your issues. Thanks for your courage and for sharing your experiences with this treatment protocol.

Monsanto is EVIL! they make pesticides and they make food. They have put a patent on almost every seed known to man, and then they cross breed it with a weed killer known as round up. This means that when the fields need to be weeded they spay round up all over them, and since the seed is "round up ready" it wont kill that seed, but is supposed to kill all other surrounding plants that are not "round up ready" They have sued farmers whos crops have been accidentially dusted with the seeds as trucks without tops roll by their farms, and they have over sprayed onto organic farms saying "oops, my bad" there fore causing the organic farmer to have to removed 12 inches of his soil bed to ensure that their fields remain organic. This of course after having to throw away the current crop.

Round up did wonderful for about 30 years, but now we have developed super bugs to it,and super weeds. Monsanto is looking for the next best chemical to laiden their seeds with. I work very hard to not eat genetically modified grains. Did you know Kashi is now using Monsanto grain for their cereals? I think they should require it on the label. We are a malnourished nation because of the soil we use to grow our crops and the way we manipulate them once they are grown. EVIL!

im up after sleeping 10 hours! husband is away, and i took advantage. I think I will do what I want to do today. nah nah.

Told DH we were supposed to go back on Wednesday. He told me nope, its Thursday! so, he went out with friends and had a good day. While he was gone the office called to say "where are you?" UGH! So, DH came home and I told him we missed our appointment. Rescheduled for Friday. It was on the calendar and everything. He felt bad, im not going to rub it in. We shall go back Friday.

I have had swollen neck glands this week and my thyroid seems bigger than normal. Called them and learned that there is a bug going around and the receptionist at the practice has the same thing. Called my regular MD and was told 2 of his nurses are sick with the same thing.

Tiny things take big bites.
