Grrr....I posted on this earlier (and forgot to submit reply). I just wanted to add that I have never been a 'sweater'. In the heat, and when exerting myself, I just get more and more uncoordinated, more dizzy and brain foggy. My face glows red like a beacon - sometimes I even go to the bathroom and put water of my face, neck and arms (then I realise how much difference it would make if I did sweat.

I sweat now, after many years of not sweating. And my temperature rose to about 97.5 instead of 96.5. I don't know what made this happen. We are having a hot summer like most places, but I can sweat inside in air conditioning too. I really need air conditioning at this time. When I was young I did sweat in the heat and I know it was a good thing. Then it all stopped for many years. I wash a lot of clothes, including my bras every day. I notice that I must shower more often as I get an unpleasant odor since I started sweating again. It is not the same as sweat used to be. I have heard old ladies start to smell funny. Is that me? I have no idea. Another mystery.
Sounds like the people on this forum are quite various when it comes to sweating. |
I shun everytime I see this thread and finally discovered why. I was taught that a
"lady" never sweats nor uses the word. It really is a nasty sounding word.UGH! Ladies perspire. What ever happened to teaching our youngsters to be ladies and gentlemen? |
It didn't do me much good being a reticent "lady", Sally, as I was when I was younger. Being a vulgar pursuer of truth would have helped me more. But I am still a lady and I know what you mean, Sally, it is hard to be an outspoken pursuer of truth in the medical area, and to speak up to doctors and others and challenge them to think.

You can still be great leaders, yet still maintain a persona of gentileness (is that a word):D

I sweat big time while on the bike on humid days. I wear a bandana to help keep it out of my eyes.
I'm weird....I love to sweat lol....All I can think about is the dirt being flushed out of my pours so more sweat equals cool beans for me. I love working up a nice lather of sweat and dirt, taking a white rag, wiping my face and seeing all the dirt I sweated out....love it lmao. |
I sweat bad in summer and it is such a horrible experience. I have ANS after spinal cord injury and I can not tolerate heat anymore. I am using Drysol for under my arms. You can only get it through a script from your doctor. I do not sweat under my arms but do have the facial sweating.

I never used to sweat. But over the past year or so I find myself starting to sweat when I never used to. Now if I could just start handling the heat and humidity better while I sweat I'd be good to go!
