Default First Impressions

This guy, a Dr. David Kaufman, is SERIOUS!! If I was going on both mine & DH 1st impression...he is the guy for me. Not shy & did way more tests in the office.

Wanted the order in which the symptoms occurred. Pins & needles in left eye, fishbowl vision for a month, the funky & ever here a day, there a day left hand tremor, etc...wanted descriptions of how they made me feel.

Then took me out in the hallway & had me walk, then walk toe-to-toe (like at PT), then on toes only (both of which make me lose balance) then on tippy-toes (which my RIGHT foot can't do--that's new). Then stand with palms up & touch nose with any finger...with eyes closed (which makes me do something strange...fall in circles?).

Then back in room to try to step up on exam table...but put the stepstool out further. It took a while to figure out how to step without misstepping. Then he looked into my eyes?? No clue why. Looking for my missing brain, I think

Then, I kinda forget...oh, yea, he had me put my head down & then turned lights back on...forgot to mention the in the dark exam. Had me relax arms & legs...then he moved them different ways & had me try to push or pull him away. me of that didn't work so well. And the usual, I think, hammer to joint & tine testing. Oh, and also foot pushing & pulling...that also was new in Dr's office experience...only been done in PT so far. So also tells me PT is excellent.

He also asked about some of the other tests that my former doc had done & I guess, was mad that he didn't have the results for those. We heard him, through the exam room door, asking his assistant about that.

So, now, I've agreed to some kind of four-hour cognizent (spelling) test. My DD and I will go to that next Wednesday (Oct. 10th), again, in Green Bay & then will have to go for the dreaded LP (they should be calling in the next day or two OR I am supposed to call to set it up by Thursday of this week.

I hope that we are close to finding out what this is or isn't...I just want to get on with my life & start attacking this mess!!
