My kitchen sink is draining so slowly that I'm going to have to have a plumber come look at it tomorrow. He's supposed to be here between 8AM - 12 Noon. So......if I'm up early and ready at 8 that'll mean he won't show up until noon. If I oversleep and I'm not ready early he'll be bright and early at 8 AM!:rolleyes:
The Schwan's guy is supposed to deliver between 11 - 1 tomorrow so it'll be a busy day here. |
Kitty- tell me about it:D It seems that whenever I manage to get my self together and on time - the rest of the world feels no problem with being late. But... let me have one of those days and they all rush to my door!
Nuts! and Sally- How are you today dear? Up to no-good, per usual;) Today I have PT scheduled (and I really want to stay under the covers as it is sooo cold and I feel like a sweatpants king of day). Then I have a conference all/webinar meeting - ugh. |
Sal-B2U said her fingernails were in good shape...I wish mine were.
|
Well, the plumber showed up but will have to get someone with different equipment to fix the problem. So.......the sink and dishwasher are still unusable.
The Schwan's guy arrived right on time and he was so, so nice. Sally, have you tried the Fire Roasted Vegetables? If you haven't....get a bag or three! YUM!! They are so good. I got some of the Salmon patties, too. I love those crumbled up in a salad. It's dreary here today but supposed to warm up to 70 degrees by Wednesday. Of course, severe storms are in the forecast for Wednesday, too. Can't we please just have a sunny, mild day for cryin' out loud!! :ranting: Once Summer gets here with it's 95 degree days I'll be whining for Winter again. |

Kelly, the fire roasted vegies are greattt! I would love to get those salmon patties. My Mom used to make those all the time and serve them with home made mac and cheese... No fat there:eek:, but soooo yummy.
Ya gots to cook them though and that's against my religion.:D I really do need that toaster oven. BTW, I tried the Orieda micro french fries. not too bad, but not as good as the greezy ones out of the deep fryer.:o:rolleyes: |
I cook the salmon patties in a pan on the stove. Takes just a few minutes on each side and they're done. That's about the extent of my cooking these days, though. And I don't like doing even that! But I cook them all and put them in the fridge.....then just heat up what I need or break one up over a salad. Those veggies have to be heated in the oven. How do you fix yours? I cook the whole bag, then refrigerate and heat up what I use in the m/w.
I tried the whole grain loaf bread. I have to fix that in the oven, too, but it had such great reviews I had to try it! |
I just heat them in the MW. It works.:D

My Dear Lord, I love to cook-it's almost a spiritual thing for me. I occasionally have trouble thinking of different things to think up, but it is such a pleasurable experience...and. dH is in Heaven when he eats my meals. One if my true joys in life besides writing.

Checking in to say hello and thanks to all of your nice check ins. I hope today is finding you better and happier..:grouphug:
|
I'm happy. :) The plumber fixed my kitchen drain this morning but apparently the cause of the trouble is in the pipe that extends out from the house. Not sure if they will have to dig up the yard or not. I hope not. But my sink drains well now so I'm not going to worry about what hasn't happened yet.
Bad storms are predicted for tomorrow. Glad I don't have to be out in it. ;) |
Lord, this weather is crazy...heavy downpours...60s in January...is there any place on Earth that is normal anymore?
|
Okay, Sally, you asked for it. You said for us to check in even if we just want to complain. Well...here you go:
WAH WAH WAH WAH WAAAAAHHHHH!!!! While I am thankful it's nothing "big", sometimes the "little" things keep piling up until you just want to sit down and cry. :Sob: |

Wow...don't know what's going on, but I have a lot more energy lately. Maybe because I am finally eating healthier and have cut way back on alcohol consumption. Or maybe now that FIL is at rest I can ease up a bit on the worrying. MIL is doing so well!!
I haven't felt this good in a while!:D |
Excellent news Debbie!!! I am happy for you :)

How are you today, Sally?
Judy, I can't believe it's been five years--way to go, girl! It all sounds good--but sorry you're dealing with afib issues...they're not fun at all! DH and I have finally started drying our tears over the death of our fur baby Tabitha, and we're doing better---thanks again to everyone for your messages of sympathy. :grouphug: The vet even sent us a beautiful little letter, and they made a clay disc for us with Tabitha's paw prints and a tuft of her hair. Wasn't that wonderful of them? We're getting her ashes and a wooden box with a plaque next week... Can't quite get going again; since Christmas I've had a relapse that I just can't shake. I'm utterly exhausted--and the increased nerve pain and burning doesn't help. I know I'll feel better in a week or two--and I finally just now got back on my diet. I'm not going to weigh myself tomorrow, but I will next week, after I've been on it a few days. So now I've had my whine--I'm waiting for the cheese! Oops, just remembered, I'm back on my diet! Seriously, I really am trying to climb out of this; I didn't mean to write such a bummer of a post. Things are already better; the immense cog fog I had last week has almost all blown away, so that's a good thing! Speaking of the weather--it's been in the 70s and 80s since the first of the year down here in Key West, so we've had no winter at all! Usually we have a few cool days in the 60s, and even a day or two in the 50s just to cool everyone off--but not this year. Believe it or not, the locals (myself and DH included) are missing the cool temps, because we rather look forward to them after a hot, sweltering spring, summer and fall! |
