I knew you wouldnt really put an ice cube on your eye. You'd put something between the ice and the eye.

When I had pain from optic neuritis, I just experimented with things to figure out how to make it not hurt so much. Alternating between the warm or cold washcloths sometimes worked. Sometimes it didnt.

Thumbs Down

Any sage advice that I would give you have already gotten from others who a much more knowledge than I am. I hope that you will be able to get to those physicians that will help you.

As for your PCP

Still playing games with my pcp.
Thinking about calling the medical board tomorrow.
I have waited for too long and I have had enough.
Pretty sure his nurse is making this difficult, she hates me because I got her in trouble cuz she was talking very negatively about me in front of patients so the head of the clinic pulled her aside after me crying and asking for my money back and I would see someone else. They wouldnt let me leave without talking to me an then ended up making me go deal with her and pcp anyways. Shes trashy and gross, flopping her tongue ring all in my face and stuff, very unprofessional.. Its a joke and I hate it.

As for my ON.. Pain has dulled down alot.. Unless theres alot to look at or being in the car. Still cant drive but at least the constant feeling of an ice pick being driven thru them has passed.. Now its just constant pressure with sharp pains here and there. Hoping for full recovery.. Dealing with my pcp is just alot to handle.. I feel like there has been more than 3 legit lawsuits in the time of dealing with them. I just want him to sign the referral.

My aunt is a nurse practitioner, and is responsible for overseeing a lot of nurses where she works. Anyone that shows up with a tongue ring or a piece of metal sticking out of their nose or lips gets sent home. My aunt got the hospital to get a professional standard of dress that everyone working there has to follow.

One of my cousins (not my aunt's kid) got a job there, and on the first day of work, she showed up with a pierced tongue and a lip ring (this was before aunt got the hospital to ban lip, nose and tongue jewelry). My aunt made her take them off.

I'm so very glad shr makes them take out the metal/send them home.
I personally like piercings, but in a professional environment? Absolutely not. There is a time and a place. Its called off the clock and in your own personal time.
I, personally, find it extremely disrespectful.. And im younger than this lady.. Geeze..

Good news is.. I got the referral signed! Hooray!
Hopefully this new specialist will be amazing and will also know what these sleep episodes are..

I know theyre going to make me do a dmd, but I dont think I wanna try that road again... Side effects and whay they do to your body just doesnt seem worth the POSSIBILITY of it slowing my progression down.

I would LOVE to get on a properly dosed vitamin regimen..

Congratulations! The drama was enough stress to make anybody go postal.

I really hope the new doc turns out wonderfully and leads to a long, productive and helpful relationship.

Remeber the docs, etc a a part of our care team - not our dicators. We are not children who must follow rules. We rely on MDs, etc for educated sage advice to help us make our own informed decisions.

If you feel strongly about pro/con something, then say so (and your reasons why). I guess what I am saying is feel empowered to direct your healthcare and decisions. Does that make sense?

i'm glad this jerk finally came thru with the referral. he doesn't sound very professional and so his office won't run like that either.

Thank you so very much!
What you are saying about feeling empowered makes complete sense and was something I needed to hear! I am going to always remember this when dealing with the healthcare world.
I am so excited and hoping for the best with this new specialist

Default Could be rem sleep disorder

I have laughing, talking, violent dreams that I act out. This has been diagnosed as rem sleep disorder. This is a precursor to Parkinson's disease and other problems. It causes me a lot of vision problems. In fact I wear prescription sunglasses all the time. This helps with migraine headaches and vision problems a lot. I went to the best neurologist in my state and he says clonazepam is the only drug that can help stop this sleep problem. It has been helping me. My dad sees the same neurologist for Parkinson's with dementia. He has this same rem sleep disorder. The clonazepam has been helping his dream enacting out problem too. The sleep disorder is a sign there is brain damage and every time you have the dream problem more brain damage is happening. If you think this could be the problem you need to see a neurologist. Thought tis might help as what you describe is similar. Good luck. I wear my sunglasses at night
