Hi Sally,

glad your UTI is going away. I got one while traveling overseas recently. I saw a doctor there. But when I stopped the antibiotics it came roaring back. I now have a fever of 100.4 and all the usual symptoms. I'm going to my GP tomorrow.

I am at my wit's end with these endless UTIs. It is putting a serious strain on my marriage. I was getting ready to try this D- Mannose stuff as a matter of fact. Has anyone here had success with it?

I need the magic cure for UTIs!!! And the Tysabri just makes me even more susceptible. It's all so depressing. :(

Thought I might have one but my gp says no. Going off blood work from 3 weeks ago. Good luck Sally

how long after symptoms present can you go before going on abs? I'm out of town and my doc at home insists on a urine culture before prescribing abs. I won't be home for several days and don't want to run around trying to find a medical center in network.

Maybe you can talk him into it. I always do.
A good Doc knows that we know when we
are having a UTI and will send you an AB.

Waited until I got home to call the doc. She made me come in to the office. Of course I have a UTI. She put me on an extended length of abs since I am going out of town.
It's so frustrating because I am so careful about hygiene...

Debbie - Sorry about the UTI. :( You should start feeling better in a few days after starting the abx. Also, hygiene is only a part of preventing UTI's. With many of us MSers, completely emptying our bladders is an issue and a cause of UTIs. (I'm a retainer myself but haven't had an infection yet. Knock on wood.) If I remember correctly, you had urodynamic studies done, right? It may be time to go back to the urologist and get checked again and possibly start some sort of treatment. Hang in there and I hope you start feeling better soon.:hug:
