Default physical vs mental

I still have the varying physical symptoms everyday but my main issue right now is my depression/anxiety. I guess it is a question of "which came first the chicken or the egg" if you will. How am I supposed to know? I am in a bad place. I am deeply depressed, edgy, anxious, etc. I feel like a time bomb waiting to explode. I don't even care anymore if it is just anxiety or what. I just want someone to fix it. I want my life back. Please don't feel you have to respond. It just helps to write it out.

Hi Julie,

Are you being treated for depression and anxiety? If not I would suggest seeing a Psychiatrist. A Psychiatrist can help find the right medication or combination of medications to best treat both depression and anxiety. The medications for anxiety and depression are their speciaty.

If you go to see a Psychiartist and get the depression and anxiety under control you will be amazed at how much better you will feel.

If you also have an underlying medical problem you will be better able to deal with what may come.

Best wishes!

Thanks Snoopy! I have been on anti-depressants for years but only from my GP. I took paxil for years until recently when it "pooped out". Now I take Vybrid. I think it is new. I see a therapist, but never seen a psychiatrist.

I also prefer a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner for mental health medications. Hang in there.

What Snoopie said Julie. I went to my Neuro, who
just happened to be a Neoro/Psych, for my anxiety
and depression care. Together we found the right
meds for me and that awful cloud of anxiety/depression
was lifted.

It felt so good that I almost forgot about my MS
for awhile. That was 12 years ago and I am still
taking an AD/AA med, because I never want to
enter that funk again.

Feel better Julie..

Thanks guys. I am pretty much convinced that my symptoms really are probably anxiety related. However, I still plan to keep my neuro appointment. If she agrees, maybe she can point me in the right direction. I guess I probably don't belong on this board which I suppose is good news.
