Default Does Rebif make you feel weird

I've took two shots now, one last Friday and one today. I just feel weird, not flu like symptoms yet. I just feel like I'm drowning, I just don't understand some things going on. Not drowning as in water, just depressed. I don't like talking on the phone to be honest, all of this is new to me. I spend a lot of time on the internet and find peace with talking to those on here. Just please help

Depression is a possible side effect. Not one I have, but I do have other weird side effects You should definitely talk to your doctor though.

Why do you think I posted this here....it's because I wanted an answer from other users here....not from a doctor. It costs money to see a doctor

As nemsmom mentioned, Depression is a side effect of Rebif.

You need to speak with or see your neuro so you can be treated for depression. Talking to people on the internet will not help medication induced depression.

Do you have a trusted family Doctor. He/She may
be able to treat you with with an AD to get you through
this rough spot. My reg Doc treats my depression.

Skywalker I think you would be surprised with how much some doctors understand, particularly if it is a known and relatively common side effect. A history of depression was one of the reasons why I was put on Copaxone instead of Rebif since we knew it would be a possibility.

It may cost money to see a doctor, but it doesn't to pick up the phone and call. Just say that you want to speak with the neuro or nurse practitioner about depression after taking Rebif and somebody should call you back if they can't speak with you then. It can be serious and warrants looking into. They may want to change what you are on or have you take something to go with it.

I know that it is easier to talk to random people online, but even as a psychologist I can't help you much through the internet other than offer you the serious advice to call your doctor...

It gave me flu like symptoms especially at first. It does have depression as a side effect so you will possibly need to take antidepressants while taking it. You will need to see your doctor for antidepressants though.

It is not easy to get used to the shots and side effects but we are all here but we are not doctors. Try not to worry.

I only took Rebif for 2 weeks at the lowest dose. Not only did I suffer from severe flu symptoms but I sunk into the deepest darkest black depression. It was scary. I had to stop the drug. I switched to Copaxone and lasted for 6 weeks. Now I'm on Tysabri and love it.

Skywalker

You indeed sound down. Its a positive that you have noticed "the feeling".
I know you have issues with insurance right now, but you need to speak to the doctors office.
They would freak out if they thought you would not call!

You need to tell them....I have no insurance or money, but I am concerned about the way I feel after starting Rebif.
There is a MS nurse line you can call to talk to a nurse about Rebif. Tell, her about your concerns and your financial situation when it comes to dealing with the doctor.
Call a nurse toll-free at 1-877-447-3243.
Nurses are available by phone:
Monday through Friday 8 AM to 8 PM ET
Saturday and Sunday 9 AM to 5 PM ET
