Thanks for the link, those sure are mean tips. My solution was a last minute cheaper option, and it has worked for me. Better traction on wet and dry floors.

I think your solution is great!

It works for you and keeps you safe, that's all that matters :)

Yes thank you, and further more with usage the threads have separated a bit giving me even more grip. And like I said, it was a last minute thing without having to spend extra money.:)

I just wanted to show you the tip as it looks today.

Done carefully with a sharp knife. The key is not to cut too deep or you will ruin the tip, and watch your hands so that you will not cut yourself.

Cut with the tip on the cane. in a hawsaw manner.forward to back, first make a "line" in the center, then a cross and from the intersection of the lines the other two lines.Just like a pizza. 2 mm deep and you are done.

I even tested it in the tub with the water way above the tip and it still gripped pretty good. And that is more water most of us ever intend to walk on with a cane.

Once again, use common sense, always watch the floor you are walking on, don`t get distracted, and most important, set the cane correctly and firmly on the ground and always expect the unexpected.

Safe walking and health everybody.
