My experience was like all the others, uncomfortable. You don't have to bring a bite block, a swig of whiskey or anything like that. I have had menstrual cramps that hurt a lot worse and they stick around. As soon as the needle is put in or the little shock is given the pain is immediately gone

You bring up a good point. I think if I was having more nerve pain or muscle spasms when I had it done it may have hurt. I think it would depend on what you are experiencing that particular day. Plus, perception of pain is different for each of us. Many of us experienced discomfort during our test and not pain, but that is not to say that someone else would experience pain during the test.
