Confused MS and Aging

I guess this is mainly for the women........but the men are welcome to respond.

Since I've been diagnosed and my MS has progressed I've noticed that I look so much older. I know that's bound to happen as I get older but in the pictures I've seen of myself lately it seems like I really look old.

I'm not trying to be vain or superficial but I guess I'm just not ready to look my age (I'm 52).

Have any of you noticed that you seem to be aging faster since being diagnosed with MS?

I'm using Oil of Olay night cream like it's going out of style! I see photos of women in their 70's and think to myself "she looks better than I do and I'm 20 years younger!".

Eeek!

People to this day do not believe I am in my mid 30's, they think 28 tops and it makes me feel good even though 36 or so is still fairly young. I think I look good.

So my answer is no, but it's only been a a bit over a year since getting an official. I'm sure as things get harder, I'll look older, especially balding and gray hairs and such.

Kitty I'd say you are only as old as you feel, but....... that statement unfortunately doesn't work for us here Hell, I felt like 70 years old yesterday, and my 61 year old mom was trotting around the store like a 20 year old.

So sorry, fo ryou, but try and not stress it much.....

I'm sincere when I say that, Sally! I'd never guess you were in your 70's. I hope I look as good as you do when I reach 70.

Well when I cook bacon I filter the left over fat and save it in the refrigerator. It makes a great facial cream and my dog really likes it!

Some how getting older and how I look seems to be the least of my problems?

You're right. And I feel bad even voicing my concerns. I'm really thankful to get older. I just don't really feel like looking my age! Does that make any sense?

Not too sure I'm gonna try your facial cream recipe!

Don't underestimate what some women do to look younger! You may be looking at photos of women who use Botox etc.

Also you may be feeling the effects of menopause in your skin etc.

I will be 55 this year and have women I know who look a lot older than I and some that look a lot younger than I. Genetics plays a role.

You are probably not feeling any different that most of us in our 50's. We start noticing things changing rapidly. Ahhhh youth is wasted on the young.

Oil of Olay products are great! Keep your skin hydrated and healthy

Oh.....and try some Garnier BB cream (has a primer, SPF, and just a touch of color.....love this stuff! I wear it alone or under my makeup.
