Default Weird Chest Pains/Reactions

I will try to make this easy to understand, but this has been going on for over a week now - and honestly I'm scared.

A week ago I started having chest pains. Felt like someone was squeezing it and it hurt - eventually I ended throwing up around 2am that morning. After that I felt better, but completely drained for like the next 2 days.

Fast forward to last Monday night - pain in my chest came back, but this time worse to the point where I had to go to the ER again around 1am - They did an EKG and Chest X-Ray which the doctor said both were fine. All they gave me was Loratab which did not help at all. I've tried Tyenol, Motrin, Naproxen, antacids - but nothing has worked. I finally got some rest after the ER visit. The ER doctor also said that he thought it was costochondritis, and there were no tests or treatments for it, and told me to basically deal with it.

That made me really upset. The pain feels like something is around my heart, it feels abornmal for one - the the left side of the center of my chest hurts whenever you press down on it.

The pain comes and goes now - but even when it doesn't hurt, I still feel something around my heart that should not be there. I've even tried heating pads, but they don't work either.

For some reason, I could NOT sleep at all last night - I finally got 3-4 hours after 7am this morning. I just don't know what to do - I don't know how serious this is, and with MS - anything is possible. Has anyone ever felt like I have described? I need answers

What a nightmare! I'd be frightened if it happened to me. I try to stay away from ERs. They have seldom been much of a help. It is probably best to try to make sure you follow up with your own doctor.

How's your anxiety level, Luke? Anxiety can bring on many
illnesses, including heart trouble. My Anxiety made me very
ill. Doc put me on Paxil and it saved me.

I'm fine anxiety wise - I take Zoloft everyday. It helped starting, but seems to decrease in effect now. I don't have a doctor anymore to be honest - my neuro treated me bad, so I can't go back to him because he won't help me. I could try to get to see another neuro but I don't know - I do have the MS Center appt Aug 19th. I am frustrated that it is this hard to try and get help! I've waited for the MS Center appt for a month and half now and still have to wait.

I have this feeling that there is something wrong with my chest and its just the docs doesn't want to do tests. It makes me sad knowing some doctors just don't care.

My throat is now sore as well; I've noticed that if I start to feel better in my chest (although the weird sensation doesn't leave) and I start to move around, it gets beating faster and the more it beats fast, the worse it hurts. And it doesn't just stop at my chest at that point - it moves to a bad neck and headache.

Then add the side effects of Rebif to that. I wish I could get somewhere next week where I can go too and get some help even though I don't have insurance. I've even thought about going to a good ER about an hour away from where I live - but I just don't know what to do anymore!

I'd try the ER an hour away. Eventhough your initial ER test were fine, a second opinion is worth the trip.
A couple of years ago I had similar chest pains and thinking that it was just the HUG, I waited for 3 days before the pain got suddenly worse and I went into the ER. The ECG and other tests were fine at the ER.
The next day I went to my PCP and he suspected pericariditis because it got worse when I laid down flat. He sent me for more tests and he was correct. All it needed was a round of antibiotics and to have some fluid drainied off from the sac around the heart. The pain was gone in minutes.

Hope that you get some answers and relief .

With love, Erika
