Why did my MRI not come with "impressions" section?

Default Why did my MRI not come with "impressions" section?
Do most? I keep seeing posts in the web where their radiologist included these with MRI. Sure wish mine did!

The impressions section is in the written report that the radiologist sends to your neuro and/or your PCP. It sounds like you have the CD of the MRI but not the radiologist's report.

Haha. Ok. Yes. That must be it! So, in a couple days, generally, will they send the report over to my doctors?

Call the facility where the MRI was done and ask for a copy of the MRI report. You will more than likely need to go pick it up.

Impressions is generally a part of the written record/transcript and includes what the person reading your MRI thinks is going on. It depends on the transcription format and may not be included but most of the time it will be.

As a general rule transcriptions/written records should be in your chart within 48 hours. Now, that isn't always the case as things happen and reports can get behind, but it shouldn't take much longer than that. If it does take longer you can raise cane as it can be argued dangerous to have an incomplete chart.

Well. The MRI was normal. Which on one hand is really quite a relief. But on the other hand I still have no leads for what has caused me so much odd helf the last decade other than my positive lyme test.

Ummmm

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but since Lyme has lots of similarities with MS, can this not be the culprit for your symptoms? I don't know much about it, but isn't it treatable in many cases? If so, it is a much better alternative to MS!

I guess it all depends on how advanced or chronic it is.

Let me know how you get on, and what the doc says
