Goodwill will traditionally provide you what is needed if a doctor orders it and Catholic charities or your local hospital traditionally have free supply closets (donated equipment) available for the asking.

It also helps to put up a flier at church (people ill help if they are asked)

or look in the classifieds section of the paper or scout yard sales for cheap medical equipent.
